In 1919, people of Sankhali started an educational institute called Atmo'dhar Sangh with wide perspective and dream of educating the community which had very limited resources. The institution had the library as their first project. 'Utkarsha Vidyalaya' a Marathi Primary School was its next step. After Goa's liberation , the Sangh started an English Medium High School "PROGRESS HIGH SCHOOL". During the last 49 years 'Progress High School' has successfully imparted Education to the students not only of Sankhali but also nearby areas. One must be very much proud of this work which has given outstanding personalities in different fields to the state and Nation ultimately. Today Sangh has expanded its educational activities from Pre-primary till High-School Level.
