🌾🌱 Gopalkrishna Primary School Students Experience Paddy Transplantation Through an Eco Club Activity 🌱🌾
Sankhali, Goa: As part of the Eco Club initiative, Gopalkrishna Primary School, Vasant Nagar, Sankhali, organised an educational Paddy Transplantation Activity at Upper Harvalem, Sankhali, in accordance with the vision of NEP 2020. The programme promoted experiential learning by integrating Environmental Studies, Mathematics, Languages, and Art, enabling students to connect classroom knowledge with real-life experiences.
The activity was made possible through the generous support of local farmers Mr. Dashrath Surya Malik, Mrs. Kaushalya Dashrath Malik, and their family. Their sons also actively participated in the programme by demonstrating modern agricultural techniques, including the use of farming equipment for land preparation, while explaining the traditional methods of paddy transplantation.
Under the guidance of the farmers, the students enthusiastically stepped into the paddy fields and planted rice seedlings, gaining firsthand experience of the agricultural process. The activity provided valuable insights into the importance of farming, the significance of sustainable agriculture, and the dedication and hard work of farmers who contribute to the nation's food security.
The programme encouraged environmental awareness, teamwork, respect for nature, and an appreciation for India's rich agricultural heritage. It was attended by Mr. Viraj Gawas, Mrs. Rahi Saloskar, Mr. Minesh Naik, and Mr. Rajat Gurav, and was successfully conducted with the wholehearted support of the management of Gopalkrishna Sanstha.
This memorable experience not only strengthened students' understanding of agriculture but also reinforced the principles of experiential learning advocated by NEP 2020.
