Professor (Dr.) Mani Kant Paswan joined as Director SLIET, Longowal. On his appointment by Ministry of Education Government of India, Professor (Dr.) Mani Kant Paswan took over the charge of Director SLIET, Longowal. Prof. Paswan is on deputation from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur where he was Dean (Faculty Welfare) since August 2021. He also served as Head of Mechanical Engineering Department NIT Jamshedpur, as President Nominee at all NIT faculty recruitments, as well as at Central University Guru Ghasidas Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. He also served as Senate member of NIT Meghalaya. He is working as academic council and Board of Studies member of various universities such as Sarla-Birla University Ranchi, Amity University Kolkata, Amity University Ranchi, Arka-Jain University Jamshedpur etc. He is working as Nominated Moderator by AICTE of two Universities in Jharkhand Ram namely Govind Singh Engineering College Koderma and Chandravanshi Engineering College Gadhwa. He also worked as an Accessor in NAAC and NBA.
During his nearly three-decade teaching and research career, he has been an investigator on several funded research projects in MHRD (R&D), TEQIP, and various consultancy work. Renewable energy, composite materials, power plant engineering, and industrial applications are among his current research interests. He has over hundred papers published in prestigious journals and has attended over 25 conferences. He was supervisor and research supervisor associate of eight PhDs to date, with another six currently in progress. He has also supervised 63+ M.Tech scholars and 31+ B.Tech project groups to date. Prof. Paswan is a leading proponent of solar thermal heating systems and natural fibre composite materials.
