BUDDHISM
Buddhismis the only religion of Peace and Harmony. If the whole world was Buddhist, there would be much less violence.Gautam Buddha taught us the way to live and let others live peacefully. Buddhism gives one the privilege not to accept anything on blind faith, but to think and decide for themselves, then follow. Buddha encouragedeveryone to have compassion for each other and develop theirown virtue, "You should do your own work, for I can teach only the way."Buddha did not deny that there is happiness in life, but he pointed out it does not last forever. Eventually everyone meets with some kind of suffering. He said:"There is happiness in life,Happiness in friendship,Happiness of a family,Happiness in a healthy body and mind,But when one loses them, there is suffering."He also gave the world a Nobel Eightfold Path to end the sufferings.1. Right View - The right way to think about life is to see the world with wisdom and compassion.2. Right Thought - We are what we think. Clear and kind thoughts build good, strong characters.3. Right Speech - By speaking kind and helpful words, we are respected and trusted by everyone.4. Right Conduct - No matter what we say, others know us from the way we behave. Beforewe criticize others, we should first see what we do ourselves.5. Right Livelihood - This means choosing a job that does not hurtothers. The Buddha said, "Do not earn your living by harming others. Do not seek happiness by making others unhappy."6. Right Effort - A worthwhile life means doing our best at all times and having good will toward others. This also means not wasting effort on things that harm ourselves and others.7. Right Mindfulness - This means being aware of our thoughts, words, and deeds.8. Right Concentration - Focus onone thought or object at a time. By doing this, we can be quiet and attain true peace of mind.Following the Noble Eightfold Path can be compared to cultivating a garden, but in Buddhism one cultivates one's wisdom. The mind is the ground and thoughts are seeds. Deeds are ways one cares for the garden. Our faults are weeds. Pulling them out is like weeding a garden. The harvest is real andlasting happiness. To summarize, Buddha's teachings say, "Do no evil, do only good, purify your heart". Even a five-year old child can understand the words but it maytake whole lifetime to do it.Buddhists, if I am to compare them to other religions, are never arguing or trying to convert you, they are peaceful and their teachings are clear, practical and most of all, they donot cast out other religions or speak ill about them. They respect them. Unfortunately, as far as my own experience goes, Christians emphasize the fact that if you do not believe that Christ is God's son, and that he died for our sins, you are wrong and I have heard as well that they claim to be the only religion on earth. I wonder whatChrist thinks about this because I can only think of him as a true enlightened Buddhist and sometimes feel a little sorry for some of his deluded followers.Unlike any other religion, Buddhism is not merely based on theoretical concepts & their acceptance as it is. Rather it teaches you a peaceful, harmonious life full of loving kindness not at the theoretical level but at the practical level through Dhamma teachings.Dhamma is well understood only when it is practically experienced. In other organized religions there are similar concepts of brotherhood, love for all, peace etc. but they lack in the practice. Just by chanting the name/s of any God/Goddess,Deity, Spiritual Guru one can't liberate him/herself. A person can't purify him/herself by surrendering to a supernatural being/God/Spiritual Guru etc. Once the process of surrendering to super natural power starts, the process of self purification stops. Because you will be liberated by the super natural being and that power/God shall be responsible for your liberation. That's how a person becomes passive on the path of self realization, self purification & actual liberation.Dhamma actually teaches you tolive a disciplined life with morality and endless Happiness,Compassion, Brotherhood, Equanimity. It teaches you to bring in these virtues through practice. There is no short cut method for one's liberation. Everybody has to work hard to achieve their own salvation. Through the practice of Dhamma, a person becomes independent, he/she doesn't need any outside agency to bring happiness in life. The concepts of Dhamma are so scientific & crystal clear that youdon't have to create virtual beliefs or myths in the name of God to accept them.Dhamma always allow you to test the teachings of Dhamma atthe intellectual level and also at the experiential level. It gives you a freedom to accept the things/teachings if and only if they are truly acceptable to yourhuman intellect and also true to your practical experience. Dhamma doesn't bind you underblind beliefs, myths, dogmas etc. rather it makes you free from all such binding forces, it truly makes you independent, it truly takes you to the practical path of liberation/salvation. If your life is miserable then you are responsible for it and no outside agency is responsible forit. We create sufferings & happiness through our own deeds. Superficially it appears that particular situation, person, constraint or any other element is responsible for our sufferings& sorrows but while walking on the path of self experience within oneself, it is realized that deep inside ourselves, we are creating sufferings & sorrows forourselves. Therefore we have towork towards self realization & self liberation which cannot be achieved through any outside agency.Dhamma is a law of nature, Dhamma is for everyone, Dhamma is for the benefits of many. Dhamma doesn't divide mankind into different races, sects or organized religions. Dhamma is purity, Dhamma is Happiness, Dhamma is liberation, Dhamma is the ART OF LIVING!Buddhism honestly cannot be considered as a religion. It is a way if life, it is a teaching, it is the truth. Buddhists don't blindly believe in an " almighty god" buddhist know that is god was real god wouldn't have made people suffer. If god is merciful then why do he create firms if suffering like diseases and if god is kind then why did he create poor people who suffer every waking day of their lives. Some religions like Islam say that god only does such things to test us. But Islam also says that god already knows what is going to happen to you. If god already knows what's going to happen to you then whytest you? It is false beliefs like these that make religions like such bling faiths. However buddhism has no blind faith, Buddhism teaches you the truth about life and thus is the number one and most realistic religion of the world.I believe this isn't because I am a Buddhist but it is because there are 5 teaching it this religion they are no killing. no stealing, no bulling, no teasing and no lying, respect life. also if you break some of these rules you don't get murdered but you go to jail as it is the law but if they did say you have to kill because you broke one of these saying the person who kills will break a a saying and the person who kills him will break a rule and this would keep going. Rarely some people think that Buddhist is a lye and where is the proof Buddha was a real wellif you go to Sri Lanka they will show you the actual Buddha's tooth every one hundred years but if you missed it search it upNo matter war happens for goodor bad and no matter its between good and bad people, the fact is there is always killing on any one side or on both sides. Wars is not the solution for peace. And this is the fundamental of the Buddhism. Buddhism is the ultimate formula of living. And that's what worrier Ashoka learnd. Everyone need love, peace, care. Buddhism is purely based on science. Its whatever you seeby your own eye. There is alwaysreason behind every happening. There is no place for wonders in Buddhism. Its coincidence to what people call wonder. Buddhism is the thing only by which the world is working peacefully without violence. Every religion does not allow violence and this comes from buddhism even if anyone accept thi
