A significant step towards strengthening India’s handloom ecosystem!

Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur (IIM Sambalpur) signed an MoU with the Indian Institutes of Handloom Technology (IIHTs), in presence of Hon'ble Union Minister of Textiles GOI , Shri Giriraj Singh during the 1st Annual Conclave of IIHTs held in New Delhi.

The collaboration aims to leverage management expertise, innovation, technology and institutional knowledge to support the growth, competitiveness and sustainable development of India’s handloom sector.

The occasion also featured insightful panel discussions on Handloom Business, highlighting opportunities to empower the sector and create greater collaboration between academia , industry and government where
Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director , IIM Sambalpur while speaking in the panel highlighted the importance of making handloom as Indian Premium Brand so as to be marketed in the up market globally.
