Sensitisation Workshop on iGOT Karmayogi (SADHNA Saptah 2026)
A sensitisation workshop on iGOT Karmayogi – SADHANA Saptah 2026 was successfully held on April 9 at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa. The programme was chaired by Dr. P.S. Pandey, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, with Shri Kanhaiya Chaudhary, Former Joint Secretary, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi as the distinguished guest.
The workshop emphasized a shift from rule-based to role-based governance, focusing on competency, accountability, and outcome-driven performance. Highlighting institutional progress, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor shared key transformations over the past three years, including implementation of e-Office and IUMS for academic, HRMS and Financial Management System.
Addressing the participants, Shri Chaudhary stressed the importance of values and ethics in the workplace, underscoring integrity and public service.
Around 300 participants, including faculty, officers and staff actively engaged in the programme.
The event concluded with a strong commitment towards continuous learning, ethical governance, and institutional excellence under Mission Karmayogi.

ईख अनुसंधान संस्थान, पूसा का 94वाँ स्थापना दिवस: गौरवशाली विरासत और नवाचार की निरंतर यात्रा
पूसा की ऐतिहासिक धरती, जिसे देश में कृषि अनुसंधान की जन्मस्थली माना जाता है, ने भारत में आधुनिक कृषि विज्ञान को नई दिशा दी। वर्ष 1905 में स्थापित कृषि अनुसंधान संस्थान से प्रारंभ हुई यह विरासत 1934 के भूकंप के बाद भी पूसा की मिट्टी में जीवित रही। इसी परंपरा को आगे बढ़ाते हुए 1932 में मुशहरी फार्म (मुजफ्फरपुर) में ईख अनुसंधान की नींव रखी गई, जिसे 1936 में पूसा स्थानांतरित किया गया। लगभग एक सदी की इस वैज्ञानिक यात्रा में संस्थान ने गन्ना अनुसंधान, उन्नत प्रभेद विकास, तकनीकी नवाचार और किसान सशक्तिकरण के क्षेत्र में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है, जो आज भी निरंतर जारी है।
इसी गौरवशाली परंपरा के क्रम में ईख अनुसंधान संस्थान, पूसा का 94वाँ स्थापना दिवस समारोह श्री तेजेन्द्र खन्ना, पूर्व उपराज्यपाल, दिल्ली; डॉ. पी. एस. पाण्डेय, माननीय कुलपति; डॉ. अनिल कुमार झा, ईखायुक्त, गन्ना उद्योग विभाग, बिहार सरकार; तथा डॉ. जे. आर. पी. सिंह, पूर्व विभागाध्यक्ष, अनुवांशिकी एवं पौधा प्रजनन विभाग, पूसा की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति में मनाया गया।
इस अवसर पर संस्थान की उपलब्धियों, गन्ना अनुसंधान में नवाचार तथा किसानों की आय वृद्धि एवं गन्ना आधारित उद्यमिता को बढ़ावा देने की दिशा में किए जा रहे प्रयासों को रेखांकित किया गया। साथ ही, यह संकल्प दोहराया गया कि शोध को खेत तक पहुँचाते हुए बिहार को गन्ना उत्पादन एवं प्रसंस्करण में अग्रणी राज्य बनाया जाएगा।

A one-day Workshop-cum-Brainstorming Session on “Present-day Prospects and Futuristic Avenues in Horticultural Research” was organised in the gracious presence of Dr. P. S. Pandey, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor; Dr. H. P. Singh, Former Vice-Chancellor, RAU, Pusa and former Deputy Director General (Horticulture), ICAR and others.
The workshop witnessed comprehensive deliberations on the University’s ongoing research across various horticultural crops along with forward-looking discussions on future directions in horticultural research and education. Scientists, researchers, and students actively participated, sharing insights on innovation, quality enhancement and sustainable development in horticulture.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa में “प्राकृतिक खेती की स्थिति और संभावनाएं” विषय पर राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी का उद्घाटन माननीय कुलपति Dr. P.S. Pandey द्वारा विशिष्ट अतिथि डॉ. पी.पी. शास्त्री, पूर्व अधिष्ठाता, कृषि महाविद्यालय, खंडवा की गरिमामय उपस्थिति में किया गया।
माननीय कुलपति ने अपने अध्यक्षीय संबोधन में प्राकृतिक खेती के क्षेत्र में विश्वविद्यालय की पहलों और भविष्य की संभावनाओं पर विशेष जोर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय ने इस दिशा में अग्रणी पहल करते हुए School of Natural Farming की स्थापना की है तथा बी.एससी. (Natural Farming) जैसे नवाचारपूर्ण शैक्षणिक कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत की है।

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa ने एक ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि हासिल करते हुए पूर्वी भारत में पहली बार IVF तकनीक के माध्यम से साहीवाल नस्ल की बछियों का सफल जन्म कराया है। यह उपलब्धि भारतीय डेयरी क्षेत्र में स्वदेशी नस्लों को बढ़ावा देने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम मानी जा रही है।
विश्वविद्यालय के वैज्ञानिकों ने IVF तकनीक के माध्यम से कुल चार बछियों का सफलतापूर्वक जन्म कराया, जिनमें से तीन पिपराकोठी स्थित देशी नस्ल संवर्धन उत्कृष्टता केंद्र में तथा एक मोतिहारी के चकिया गौशाला में जन्मी। यह सफलता देशी नस्लों के तीव्र संवर्धन और उन्नयन की नई संभावनाओं को मजबूत करती है।
इस अवसर पर कुलपति Dr. P.S. Pandey ने बताया कि अब तक किसान अधिक दुग्ध उत्पादन के लिए विदेशी नस्लों पर निर्भर रहे हैं, लेकिन उनमें बढ़ती स्वास्थ्य एवं प्रजनन संबंधी समस्याओं के कारण अब स्वदेशी नस्लों की ओर रुझान बढ़ रहा है। साहीवाल जैसी देशी नस्लें भारतीय जलवायु के अनुकूल, अधिक सहनशील एवं टिकाऊ साबित हो रही हैं।
IVF आधारित OPU तकनीक के माध्यम से ऐसी उन्नत गायों का विकास किया जा रहा है, जो बदलते जलवायु परिस्थितियों में भी बेहतर प्रदर्शन कर सकें। यह पहल “क्लाइमेट-स्मार्ट डेयरी” की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण प्रयास है, जिससे किसानों को कम बीमार पड़ने वाली, गर्मी सहन करने वाली एवं स्थिर उत्पादन देने वाली नस्लें उपलब्ध कराई जा सकें।
विशेषज्ञों के अनुसार, यह उपलब्धि न केवल बिहार बल्कि पूरे देश के डेयरी उद्योग में एक नई क्रांति का मार्ग प्रशस्त करेगी।

Transforming Bihar’s Agricultural Landscape: BASA Emerges as a Global Think Tank for a Viksit Bihar
The agricultural landscape of Bihar is undergoing a scientific transformation, marking a significant milestone as the Bihar Agriculture Science Academy BASA celebrated its Fourth Foundation Day along with its Annual General Meeting. The event was jointly organised by the Bihar Agriculture Science Academy and Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, at the prestigious university campus. On this occasion, a seminar on Climate Change and Food Systems in Bihar was also organised, highlighting critical challenges and pathways for building resilient and sustainable agricultural systems in the state.
BASA has emerged as a dynamic and forward looking think tank that is reimagining the growth trajectory of the state’s agriculture. By addressing critical policy gaps through the application of science and technology, the Academy is fostering innovation in crop productivity, livestock management, and sustainable use of natural resources. Since its inception, BASA has remained committed to empowering farmers and strengthening long term food and livelihood security through responsible and innovation driven development.
In a moment of pride for Bihar, BASA is successfully bringing together distinguished scientific minds from across the globe, particularly sons of the soil and experts dedicated to the state’s progress. This unique confluence of global expertise and local commitment is focused on the holistic upliftment of the farming community and the advancement of Bihar’s agricultural sector.
The Foundation Day celebration was graced by eminent dignitaries including Dr. S. N. Jha, Deputy Director General Agricultural Engineering and President BASA, Dr. P.S. Pandey, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, RPCAU and Vice President BASA, and Dr. Anjani Kumar, Senior Research Fellow IFPRI, along with several other distinguished participants. On this occasion, nineteen reputed scientists were conferred with the prestigious BASA Fellowship in recognition of their outstanding contributions to agricultural science and development. These eminent scholars are playing a pivotal role in steering Bihar towards a more sustainable, resilient, and prosperous agricultural future.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa proudly served as the Knowledge Partner in the two-day National Workshop on “Empowering Farmers Collectives in Eastern India: Focus on Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS)” held on March 19–20, 2026.
The workshop was organized by NITI Aayog in collaboration with the Government of Bihar under the NITI-State Workshop Series, bringing together policymakers, academicians, and practitioners to deliberate on strengthening farmer collectives in Eastern India.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Pramod Kumar, Hon’ble Minister of Cooperative, Government of Bihar, in the gracious presence of Dr. Ramesh Chand, Member (Agriculture), NITI Aayog; Dr. P.S. Pandey, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, RPCAU; Dr. Raka Saxena, Program Director (Agriculture Policy), NITI Aayog; Dr. Rajnish Kumar Singh, Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Government of Bihar; and Shri Govardhan Singh Rawat, Deputy Managing Director, NABARD.
The workshop provided a dynamic platform for discussions on enhancing the effectiveness of PACS, fostering inclusive growth, and strengthening the agricultural cooperative ecosystem in Eastern India.

A two-day National Conference on “Elderly Population: Critical Issues, Challenges and Solution” in collaboration with National Institute of Social Defence, Government of India, was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. P.S. Pandey in the gracious presence of Dr. Tanya Sengupta, Research Officer, NISD (Sr. Citizen & Elderline); Dr. Usha Singh, Dean, College of Community Science; Prof. Vishala Patnam, Former Dean, CCSc., Parbhani; Dr. Abhijit K. Dam, National President, NAPCAIM.
In his address, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor highlighted the urgent need to address the challenges of an increasing elderly population amid changing family structures, emphasizing the importance of policy support systems, dignified care, and societal responsibility towards senior citizens.
The conference also featured the release of the Technical Programme and keynote lectures by Dr. Tanya Sengupta, Dr. A. K. Aditya, Dr. Shubhangi Singh, and Dr. Abhijit K. Dam.
The first day included 17 peer-reviewed poster presentations across eight thematic areas, covering healthy ageing, socio-emotional well-being, legal and financial security, geriatric nutrition, Ayurveda, mindfulness, and policy frameworks.
The conference served as a significant platform for dialogue and actionable insights towards ensuring dignity, care, and well-being of the elderly population.
