Today, we celebrate one of India's most powerful democratic milestones - the institutionalization of Panchayati Raj, which brought governance closer to the people who need it most.

Since the 73rd Constitutional Amendment came into force in 1993, Gram Panchayats have been the backbone of rural India - driving local development, ensuring accountability, and giving every citizen a direct voice in decisions that shape their lives.

More than three decades later, the Panchayati Raj system remains a vital experiment in participatory democracy. It provides women, marginalized communities, and rural citizens an equal seat at the table.
