Thanks for a fantastic U Bike Week! This year:

🚲Volunteers counted over 1,400 bicycles parked on campus
🚲Over 200 cyclists joined us for a biker's breakfast at the Campus Store
🚲A new collaboration with Bike Utah brought certificated instructors on campus to teach a Smart Cycling Course

ICYMI: The statement we shared yesterday in response to the four deaths of cyclists on Utah roadways in April.

“Four individuals—Adam, Matthew, James, and Eli— lost their lives this month while cycling on Utah roadways. Additionally, a cyclist recently suffered extensive injuries after a hit-and-run in West Valley. These horrific incidents are a grim reminder of the critical need for safe driving measures. The cycling community is devastated by these preventable tragedies. To those who lost a friend or family member, we send our love and condolences.”

As comes to a close, remember: action to combat distracted driving will help reduce traffic injuries and fatalities on our nation’s roadways. Everyone deserves to get home safely.

We will host a brief 15 minute lesson with an Ask a Mechanic Q&A afterwards. We are accepting in-person guests (no appointment necessary, *masks encouraged!*). Come ready to learn how to repair a flat on the go, see what’s in our bike bags, and ask our WTF+ mechanics your burning bike questions! 🔧

Remember that this night is just for those who identify as women, trans*, femme, or non-binary: if you want to be an ally - educate up on the issues affecting our communities & come to our normal Open Shop hours. ✨
