Major Milestone for Indian Engineering! 🇮🇳🇩🇪
March 25, 2026 marks a proud moment for the Indo-FAIR collaboration. India has officially dispatched its first indigenously designed and manufactured Beam Catcher unit to the Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) in Darmstadt, Germany.
This complex system—integrating heavy engineering, high vacuum technology, and precision motion control—was built right here in Kanpur by Trident Auto Components Pvt. Ltd.
As a founding member and the third-largest shareholder in the FAIR project, India continues to cement its role as a global leader in high-energy physics and advanced scientific research.
Congratulations to the teams at Bose Institute, DST, DAE, CSIR-CMERI and our industrial partners for making this possible!

Glimpses of the laboratory visits by school and college students on the "Open Day", organized by Bose Institute at its Unified Academic Campus, Kolkata as a part of the National Science Day celebrations on February 27, 2026. Laboratory visits were followed by an exhibition of scientific posters as well as working models.
The feedback from the teachers showed that students were highly overwhelmed and fascinated to view the recent research works carried out by different Departments of the Institute. All the scholars in the respective laboratories demonstrated various exhibits and experiments in a lucid and interesting way!
Looking forward to more of such Open Day visits in future.
