Observation of World Environment Day - A humble initiative to work collectively towards a cleaner, greener and more sustainable world.

The NSS Unit (SFU) of B. P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, Saltlake, successfully organized a programme on 5th June, 2026, on the occasion of World Environment Day at the college premises.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, staff members, faculty and the Principal of the Institute. An E-Pledge as well as an offline pledge was taken by all participants to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices.

A tree plantation drive was also conducted to encourage a greener and healthier environment. The programme further included an insightful session on “E-Waste,” delivered by Dr. Biswajit Debnath, In-Charge, CoE of Cybersecurity and AI, St. Thomas College of Engineering & Technology, Kolkata, who shared valuable knowledge on the importance of responsible e-waste management and environmental conservation.

We are delighted to announce that the Training & Placement Cell of B. P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, Salt Lake, successfully organized a comprehensive three-day Pre-Placement Workshop on 16th, 17th, and 18th April for students of BBA, BBA (Business Analytics), and BCA, aimed at preparing them for the evolving demands of the corporate world. The workshop featured a dynamic blend of technical rounds, insightful seminars, engaging group discussions, and simulated personal interviews, offering participants a well-rounded exposure to real-world recruitment practices. This immersive initiative enabled students to strengthen their technical proficiency while enhancing their communication, analytical thinking, and professional readiness, setting a strong foundation for their future career pursuits.

Techstorm 2.26, the Annual Techfest of B. P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, commenced with a grand inauguration at the BPPIMT, VIP road Campus on April 9, 2026. The event was graced by our respected Principal of BPPIMT, VIP Campus, Principal of BPPIMT, Saltlake Campus, Honourable Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Tapas Chakraborty, Vice-Chancellor of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal, and Guest of Honour Prof. (Dr.) Siddhartha Dutta, Ex-Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University. The presence of respected senior professors, all the Heads of Departments, Registrar and Deputy Registrars further added prestige to the occasion, setting the tone for three days of innovation, creativity, and technical excellence. Organized by the VIP Campus in coordination with the Saltlake Campus, the fest revolved around the theme “Play The Past, Build The Future,” bringing together enthusiastic participants from diverse domains. The event showcased creative brilliance through Passion with Reels and Creative Canvas, while mind-challenging competitions like Tech Hunt and Omegatrix tested analytical skills. Intense technical battles were witnessed in Code Bee, Hack Storm, and Technomania, alongside thrilling gaming experiences including FIFA Mobile, Forza Horizon, and Khet. The robotics arena featured events such as RO-Navigator, RO-Sumo, and RO-Soccer. With a prize pool exceeding ₹2 lakhs, the fest concluded as a grand success, leaving lasting memories for all participants and attendees.
