The students of B.P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, Salt Lake celebrated Vishwakarma Puja with great enthusiasm, devotion and festive spirit on 18th September, 2026.

Knowledge to Prosperity-My First Pay Cheque

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), B. P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, Salt Lake, organized an engaging student development session integrating Financial Literacy with Innovation & Entrepreneurship on 20th August, 2026 at college premises.

Mr. Md. Aamir Sulaiman, AVP-Investor Education & Distributors Development, Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, conducted the session on “Knowledge to Prosperity- My First Pay Cheque”, offering students practical insights into financial awareness, personal money management, saving, investing and financial planning. The session emphasized the importance of developing responsible financial habits at an early stage and making informed financial decisions. It also encouraged students to adopt a disciplined, long-term approach towards wealth creation and financial security, helping them become more confident and financially prepared for their future.

EPILOGUE 2026, the Farewell Ceremony for the outgoing students of BBA, BBA in Business Analytics, and BCA at B. P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, Salt Lake Campus, was a heartfelt celebration of memories, achievements, friendships, and aspirations.

Session on Angel Investment & VC Funding Opportunities for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of B. P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, Salt Lake and Alumni Committee of the Institute jointly organized an insightful “Session on Angel Investment/VC Funding Opportunity for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs” on 13th June 2026 for students of BBA, BCA and BBA(Business Analytics).

The session featured Mr. Sudipto Kumar Ghosh, Founder & Director, Cignus Global Pvt. Ltd. and an alumnus of the Institute, as the resource person. Drawing from his entrepreneurial experience and industry exposure, Mr. Ghosh provided students with valuable insights into the startup funding ecosystem and the opportunities available to early-stage entrepreneurs.

The discussion covered important aspects of Angel Investment and Venture Capital funding, including identifying suitable investors, understanding investor expectations, preparing a compelling pitch, evaluating funding requirements and building a scalable business model. Students also gained an understanding of the importance of market potential, financial planning, innovation and a strong entrepreneurial vision when approaching investors.

The session encouraged students to look beyond conventional career pathways and explore entrepreneurship as a viable and rewarding career opportunity. The interaction with an accomplished alumnus further inspired students to connect classroom learning with real-world entrepreneurial experiences.

The initiative strengthened students’ funding awareness, entrepreneurial mindset, financial understanding and confidence to explore and develop their own startup ideas.

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of B.P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, Salt Lake, organized a “Session on Start-up Legal & Ethical Steps” on 7th May 2026 for students of BBA, BBA (Business Analytics) and BCA at college premises to educate the students regarding the essential legal and ethical aspects of starting and managing a business venture. The session introduced participants to key considerations such as business registration, intellectual property protection, contractual obligations, regulatory compliance, data privacy and ethical decision-making in entrepreneurial activities.

Through discussions and examples, students were encouraged to recognize potential legal and ethical challenges that may arise during different stages of a startup’s journey. The session also helped participants understand that entrepreneurial success involves more than developing innovative ideas; it requires responsible ex*****on, informed decision-making and adherence to applicable laws and ethical standards.

The event contributed to strengthening students’ entrepreneurial awareness, legal literacy, ethical perspective, and readiness to explore startup opportunities with greater confidence and responsibility.
