Today's practice session.

The much awaited music season is around the corner and the season planning and prep are underway. As I was practicing, this thought popped up and I wanted to build on the idea. This kuraippu is based on graha-bhedam for the pentatonic ragam - Mohanam. Listen up and share your thoughts :) . Graha-bhedam is a concept of shifting the Tonic note (shadjam) to another note in the ragam and arriving at a different ragam. Kuraippu (which means reducing in Tamil) is a step by step reduction of kalpanaswaras according to the talam and is usually a prelude to the 'korvai'. .
