The International Day of Yoga was organised by the National Service Scheme unit, Department of Pharmacology and Department of Physiology, Vinayaka Mission’s Kirupananda Variyar Medical College & Hospitals, Salem under the able guidance and support of our Dean Dr. K. Ezhil Vendhan. This was conducted in harmony with the national event of International Day of Yoga, led by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. The Yoga instructor Mrs.Jeyalakshmi along with Miss. Samyuktha, Final MBBS Part 1 student demonstrated various yoga asanas and poses to all the participants that included Faculties, Postgraduate and Undergraduate students and Supportive staffs. Under the expert guidance and leadership of our Dean Dr. K. Ezhil Vendhan, our students participated in the Massive International Day of Yoga Celebration organised by our University VMRF-DU in the active presence of Executive Director, Campus Development, VMKVMC Campus, Shri. Gokul Krishnan Sharavanan and Higher Officials from VMRF-DU.

The President of VMRF ( DU ) Dato Seri Dr. S. Sharavanan inaugurated 300 cycles and cycle pods " Variyar Riders " and flagged off a cycle rally with the theme "Pedaling towards a Plastic-Free Planet" on the occasion of ' World Environment Day ' at Vinayaka Mission's Kirupananda Variyar Medical College and Hospitals, Salem in the presence of University Officials, The Dean Dr. K. Ezhil Vendhan, Administrators, Faculty members and Students of the VMKVMCH. This initiative is almost first of its kind in South India and Our Dean Dr. K. Ezhil Vendhan expressed his sincerest gratitude to Our President of VMRF ( DU ) Dato Seri Dr. S. Sharavanan for providing us with such a Magnanimous state-of-the-art facility. This is a significant step by our institution towards Greener Cleaner and Healthier future by reducing carbon footprint.

The Student Council of Vinayaka Mission's Kirupananda Variyar Medical College and Hospitals, Salem organized the Christmas Eve Celebrations *AURORA - 2024* on December 21 in front of Dean's Chamber which was decorated for the festivities with shades of red and green. The Dean Prof. Dr. K. Ezhil Vendhan was the Chief Guest. Other Variyar Administrative Board Members Medical Superintendent Prof. Dr. S. R. Ranga Bashyam, Deputy Dean Prof. Dr. Deepti Shastri and Director of Hospital Development Committee Prof. Dr. E. M. J. Karthikeyan, Resident Medical Officer Prof. Dr. K. Soundararajan, Heads of various Departments, Faculties, Postgraduate Students, CRMIs and Undergraduate Students participated in the celebration. The Student Council headed by Faculty Advisor Dr. R. Ramya, Associate Professor of Pharmacology along with Dr. Lovling Aarthy Maria, NSS Coordinator, Dr. Nirmal Sujitha J, Assistant Professor, Dept of CM, President of Student Council, Dr. Megan Sarah Mathew and Treasurer Dr. Shini Preetha Nirmalson along with office bearers and student members of Students Council organized the event by decorating the place with Colorful balloons, Christmas Tree lighting and Christmas Crib. The Choir performed Caroling and Music followed by arrival of Santa claus who distributed chocolates and gifts to all those present. The Dean cut the Christmas cake and was then distributed to everyone. The celebration ended on a Vibrant and Positive note with everyone wishing each other's a Merry Christmas.

The Internal Complaints Committee of Vinayaka Mission’s Kirupananda Variyar Medical College & Hospitals, Salem conducted an “Awareness talk” on “Violence Against Women # No Excuse” as a part of observance of “Elimination of Violence and Discrimination against Women Pakhwada” on 17.12.2024. The Guest Speaker was Tmt. B. Geetha, Deputy Commissioner Of Police, Head Quarters, Salem City. The Dean, Prof. Dr. K. Ezhil Vendhan presided over the event and emphasized the importance of ICC in the Institution. Tmt. B. Geetha sensitized the students on the topic “ Violence Against Women # No Excuse” with an interesting and interactive discussion. The event took place in the presence of Medical Superintendent, Prof Dr. S.R. Ranga Bashyam, Deputy Dean, Prof Dr. Deepti Shastri and Director of Hospital Development Committee, Prof Dr. E M J Karthikeyan. The Heads of various Departments, Faculty, Undergraduate & Post graduate students, CRMIs, Students from SAHS (VMKVMCH Campus) and Non-teaching staffs participated and benefited from the program.

It was conducted on October 29, 2024 at Annapoorana Auditorium, VMKVMCH, Salem in the august presence of Chief Guest Shri. Gokul Krishnan Sharavanan, Executive Director, Campus Development, VMKVMC Campus, Prof.Dr. K. Ezhil Vendhan, Dean, VMKVMCH, Prof. Dr. S. R. Ranga Bashyam, Medical Superintendent, VMKVMCH, Prof.Dr. Deepti Shastri, Deputy Dean, VMKVMCH, Prof.Dr. E.M.J. Karthikeyan, Director of HDC, VMKVMCH, Prof. Dr. K. Soundararajan, Resident Medical Officer, VMKVMCH, HODs and Faculties of various Departments, Students of various phases, Newcomers ( 2024 - 25 batch students) and Parents. The programme started off with Thamil thai Vazhthu followed by Traditional Kuthuvilakku lighting. The Dean Prof. Dr. K. Ezhil Vendhan unveiled the white coat on the stage and followed the tradition of blessing and handing over the white coats to the newcomers. Then the White coat pledge was taken by the I MBBS students followed by Dignitaries floating the lamps of Knowledge / Wisdom in the holy bowl filled with divine flowers. The I MBBS students lit the candles to vanquish the darkness of ignorance by the light of knowledge. It was followed by the felicitation speech of the Dignitaries, Dean's address and the programme ended with National Anthem.
