Prof & HOD, Dr Maya Ramesh delivered Guest lecture on the topic : Introduction of Genetics in Faculty Development Program in Hi Tech Dental College , Bhubaneswar on 5.6.2026 .

Vinayaka Mission’s Sankarachariyar Dental College successfully conducted a Value-Added Course on Soft Skills Development in English Language for the academic year 2025–26. The course was mentored by Ms. Emma Cheryl, with Prof. Dr. D. Jayachandran serving as the Coordinator and
Dr. Selva Lakshmi as the Co-Coordinator. A total of 30 students successfully completed the course and enhanced their communication and interpersonal skills. The course was well received and contributed significantly to the overall professional development of the participants

Department of Public Health Dentistry, VMSDC, Salem conducted a Free Dental Camp at Annathapatti Police Hospital, Salem on 2.6.2026. Dr. P Ajithkumar, Department of Public Health Dentistry, Lecturer, coordinated the camp. Number of Beneficiaries - 7

An insightful visit to the Sona Incubation Center was organized by IIC, VMSDC on 8th May 2026. A total of 28 students and 5 faculty members participated in the program, gaining valuable exposure to entrepreneurship, startup culture, and innovation-driven ecosystems.

The Department of Implantology successfully inaugurated and commenced the University Implant Certification Course – Batch 7 (Module 1: 13.5.2026- 15.5.2026), in association with Nobel Biocare. The program was graced by Prof. & HOD, Dr.Ramesh Choudhary, Department of Dental Implantology, Shree Siddhartha Dental College and Hospital and is the Chief of the Branemark Osseointegration Center India, as the esteemed resource person. With a total of 63 participants, the program marked the beginning of another enriching journey in advanced implant training, clinical learning, and hands-on experience in implant dentistry.

Department of Public Health Dentistry, VMSDC, Salem conducted a Free Dental Camp at Fathima convent, Salem on 15.05.2026. Preventive dental treatments were conducted during the camp to enhance the oral health of

28 beneficiaries. Dr.D.N.Shrientha, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry, coordinated the camp.

The To***co Cessation Center (TCC), Dept. of Public Health Dentistry, VMSDC, organized a To***co awareness program for outpatients at the Dept. of Oral Medicine and Radiology, VMSDC, Salem, on 11.05.2026.

Dr. P. Ajithkumar, Member and Lecturer, and Dr.T.Janany (IIyr PG) presented on to***co awareness. A total of 20 patients benefitted from the program, and 6 patients were referred to the TCC for behavioral counseling.
