We are delighted to announce that the Environmental Students Club organized a World Environment Day event. We conducted a cleanliness drive and tree plantation at Founder Temple, Ariyanoor, Salem. A total of 25 trees were planted, symbolizing 25 years of celebration at Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation Deemed to be University, Salem. The program was felicitated by Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean and Director of the School of Allied Health Sciences. Trees were also distributed by department in-charges and representatives.
This initiative aims to promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and community participation through various eco-friendly activities. A total of 30 students participated in this program.

The programme aimed to create public awareness on safety, social responsibility, and community welfare. NSS volunteers enthusiastically took part in the rally and awareness activities, demonstrating their commitment to community service and public outreach.

The Placement Cell of the School of Allied Health Sciences, in association with Confido Training and Events Pvt. Ltd., organized a three-day Finishing School Program (FSP) for III year students to improve their professional skills, communication abilities, and placement readiness.
The program commenced with an address by Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Director -SAHS who highlighted the importance of career development, communication skills, technical competencies, and professional ethics in the healthcare sector. He also motivated the students by discussing various career opportunities available in the healthcare industry and emphasized the need for continuous skill development to achieve professional success.
During the program, students learned ATS-friendly resume preparation, LinkedIn profile development, effective communication skills, presentation and public speaking skills, group discussion techniques, interview handling and mock interview practice, career readiness and placement preparation strategies, workplace ethics and professional behaviour, grooming and professional appearance, communication with patients and colleagues, confidence-building and interpersonal skills, awareness about healthcare industry expectations, technical and professional skill enhancement, and knowledge about various career opportunities in the healthcare sector.
Mock interviews and feedback sessions were also conducted to improve students’ confidence, public speaking, and professional interaction skills. The program provided valuable insights into healthcare work culture and placement preparation, making it highly beneficial for the students’ future careers. Around 400 students benefitted from this program.

The School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF-DU, Salem, through the SAHS Youth Club, organized a World Hypertension Day 2026 awareness programme under the theme of *“Controlling Hypertension Together!”*
Hypertension screening was conducted for students and faculty members. Prof. Dr. B. Sendil Kumar delivered an awareness talk on hypertension prevention, balanced diet, proper sleep, regular BP monitoring, and early detection.
The event promoted awareness on hypertension prevention and control.

The Institution's Innovation Council, School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF-DU, Salem, successfully organized *TECHNOVA 2026 – Exhibition & Presentation Competition* in celebration of National Technology Day 2026. The program was convened by Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean and Director, School of Allied Health Sciences.
Students from all departments actively participated and showcased innovative ideas, emerging technologies, and creative presentations on various technology-related topics. The event provided a valuable platform for students to enhance their technical knowledge, presentation skills, teamwork, and innovative mindset. Respected Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar delivered an inspiring speech on innovation and shared valuable insights with the participants and students.
A total of 150 students benefited from this program.
The presentations were evaluated by the jury panel, and the best teams were recognized for their outstanding performance.

The Department of Respiratory Care Technology successfully celebrated World Asthma Day 2026 to create awareness about asthma prevention and respiratory health. The program was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. B. Sendilkumar, Dean and Director, School of Allied Health Sciences.
The session highlighted the importance of asthma management, healthy lifestyle practices, and early diagnosis in improving respiratory health. Around 100 students actively participated in the program.

The Nation Education Policy (NEP) Student Club of the School of Allied Health Sciences, Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation, successfully conducted a Special Session on the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) on 11.05.2026.
The programme was organized under the guidance of Prof. Dr. B. Sendhilkumar, Dean and Director, School of Allied Health Sciences, VMRF-DU, Salem. The distinguished guest speaker was Dr. T. Muthumanikam. Professor & Head - ECE Head, Accreditation and Ranking VMKVEC, Salem.
He delivered an insightful and informative session to the students, explaining the key features and benefits of the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), including:
🔸The concept and objectives of the Academic Bank of Credits under the University Grants Commission and the Ministry of Education.
🔸Creation and use of a unique ABC ID through DigiLocker.
🔸Digital storage of academic credits earned from recognized higher education institutions.
🔸Transfer of credits between institutions and academic programmes.
🔸Multiple entry and exit options as envisioned in the National Education Policy 2020.
🔸Flexibility for students to continue their education after a break.
🔸Accumulation and redemption of credits toward certificates, diplomas, and degrees.
🔸Promotion of student mobility, interdisciplinary learning, and lifelong education.
The session was highly informative and created strong awareness among students regarding the significance and practical utility of the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) in higher education.

The Alumni reunion was held on 03.5.2026, at the SAHS campus, bringing together alumni after 13 years along with their families. 👨👩👧👦
The event began with Tamil Thai Valthu and a welcome address by Mr. V. Vigneshwara, Program Committee Chair Person -SAHS Alumni Association, followed by a lively dance by alumni children. 💃🕺

Mr. S. Antony Ruban,Head -Alumni Affairs,SAHS -Alumni Association,in his keynote, highlighted global alumni expansion, mentorship, and community service. 🌍🤝
Mr. Ajith Kumar, Vice- President ,SAHS -Alumni Association,spoke about the modernization of SAHS, including advanced labs, increased academic opportunities, and improved infrastructure. 🔬📚
Alumni shared memories, appreciated the institution’s growth, and contributed gifts including wall clocks. 🕰️🎁
