The Ministry of Education, Department of Higher Education, Government of India invites nominations for the National Awards to Teachers 2026 for Higher Educational Institutions and Polytechnics. The awards seek to recognise and honour distinguished faculty members for their exceptional contributions towards teaching-learning, innovation, research, institutional development, student mentorship and community outreach.

Modes of Nomination (On Janbhagidari basis)

➡️ Self-Nomination
➡️ Institutional Nomination: By Heads of HEIs/ Polytechnics (Director/ Principal/ VCs)
➡️ Peer Nomination: By Colleagues of the same university/ institute/ college/ Polytechnic, where the nominee holds regular employment.

Eligibility Criteria:

✔️ Regular faculty members of Colleges/ Universities/ Higher Educational Institutions/ Polytechnics in India
✔️ Minimum 5 years of full-time teaching experience at UG and/or PG level
✔️ Applicant should not be above 55 years of age as on the last date of submission

स्कूल प्रबंधन समिति दिशानिर्देश (SMCs) 2026 के संबंध में समाज के कुछ वर्गों द्वारा व्यक्त की गई चिंताओं के संदर्भ में, शिक्षा मंत्रालय यह स्पष्ट करता है कि ये दिशानिर्देश आरटीई (RTE) अधिनियम की धारा 2(n)(iv) के तहत आने वाले निजी गैर-सहायता प्राप्त (private unaided) स्कूलों पर लागू नहीं होते हैं, बशर्ते ऐसे संस्थानों को अपने खर्चों को पूरा करने के लिए संबंधित सरकार या स्थानीय प्राधिकरण से कोई सहायता या अनुदान प्राप्त न होता हो।
हालांकि, अधिक पारदर्शिता, जवाबदेही और सहभागी शासन (participatory governance) को बढ़ावा देने के लिए ऐसे स्कूलों को भी स्कूल प्रबंधन समितियों का गठन करने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया जाता है।
शिक्षा सरकार, स्कूलों, अभिभावकों और समुदाय की एक साझा जिम्मेदारी है। अभिभावकों, स्कूलों और अन्य हितधारकों के बीच सहयोग को मजबूत करना स्कूलों के समग्र कामकाज में सुधार लाने और बच्चों के लिए बेहतर शिक्षण परिणाम (learning outcomes) सुनिश्चित करने के लिए आवश्यक है।
