Kaushal Bodh Activity – Nursery Visit
As part of the Kaushal Bodh Activity, Class VII students visited a nursery to gain practical knowledge about plant cultivation and nursery management. They interacted with the gardener and nursery caretakers and learned about watering, soil preparation, plant care, and the conditions required for healthy growth.
Students observed different varieties of fruit trees like litchi, mango, herbs- mint, shrubs- varieties of roses, hibiscus, and ornamental plants and learned about their uses and basic requirements. They also explored the working of a greenhouse and understood how it provides controlled conditions such as suitable temperature, humidity, and protection from adverse weather, enabling plants to grow properly across different seasons.
The students also learned about growing young plants in plastic bags/grow bags, which facilitate root development, easy handling, transportation, and transplantation.
The visit was an enriching experiential learning activity that enhanced students’ practical skills, environmental awareness, and appreciation for plant care and sustainable gardening practices.
