Gyanostav, the National Reading Day celebration organized by Student Edge, took place from May 29 to June 15, 2023. The event encompassed various engaging competitions, including essay writing, a summer writing challenge, and a speed-reading challenge. Students of GD Goenka showcased their literary talents and dedication, earning certificates of commendation, appreciation, and participation. Honourable Principal Ma’am Mrs. Rupali Puri extended heartfelt congratulations to both the victorious participants and those who took part, highlighting the importance of fostering a love for reading and learning.

GD Goenka Public School, Rudrapur celebrated Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav week, from August 9th to August 15th, where Goenkans engaged in a series of patriotic activities. The week began with the soulful rendition of "Maati Geet" after the morning prayer, infusing reverence for the nation. An impactful "Panch-Pran Oath" ceremony symbolized unity and commitment to the country's ideals. Stories echoing heroic sagas were shared to inspire the young minds. On Day 4 students expressed their love for the motherland through slogans, essays, and poetry on "Meri Mati, Mera Desh." The celebration culminated in a spirited Independence Day celebration, fostering a deep sense of patriotism and unity among Goenkans.

Independence Day has a special place in the heart of every Indian. Not only does it symbolize the celebration of wonderful years of freedom but also extends an emphatic message of the progressive future of our country. The 77th Independence Day of our motherland India, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor by young Goenkans.

This event was full of patriotism and enthusiasm that kindled a sense of love for our country within the children. It also reminded us of the immense sacrifices of those who gave up their lives for the freedom of India.

The youngest Goenkans enthralled everyone with adorable dance performances.
The students of Grade I recited famous slogans of the national heroes in beautiful attires.
Some Students sang patriotic songs, slogans and some recited poems.

Honourable Principal ma'am addressed the little ones about the importance of the day and encouraged them to contribute in making our nation better.

The GD Goenka Public School has always made efforts to bring hidden talents among students to the forefront. Continuing this tradition, a talented student of the school has achieved another milestone, bringing honor to both School and the Nation. Recently, in the Mixed Martial Arts competition held in Abu Dhabi, student Kavya Arora, son of Mr. Subhash Arora, representing India, emerged as the champion in the Youth A 77-kilogram category, defeating the competitor from Tajikistan.

Kavya is the first participant from Uttarakhand in the Mixed Martial Arts competition to achieve such an accomplishment, elevating the pride of the State and the Nation. Participants from 44 countries took part in the competition, with Indian coach Mr. Sheikh Khalid guiding Kavya in the field of Martial Arts. In recognition of this achievement, the school management committee awarded him a trophy and a sports scholarship. The school's Principal, Mrs. Rupali Puri wished him a bright future.

On May 21st, 2023, the 3rd National Level Art Competition was held at Sur Sadhana Sangeet Academy. The event witnessed the artistic prowess of the talented Goenkans. Participants enthusiastically engaged in a wide spectrum of competitions, including Sketching, Painting and Face Painting with each competition category tailored to accommodate Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior participants. The event served as a brilliant platform for Goenkan students to showcase their creative abilities, adding vibrant colors and imaginative strokes to the day.

On July 31st 2023, GD Goenka Public School, Rudrapur organized "The Ultimate Reading Challenge" for students from Grade II to Grade VIII. This engaging event aimed to cultivate a love for reading among students, fostering language skills, critical thinking, and imagination. Reading equips students with knowledge, expands vocabulary, and enhances comprehension abilities. By delving into various genres and stories, students develop empathy, creativity, and a broader worldview. The challenge not only encouraged healthy competition but also contributed to the holistic development of our students, nurturing them into well-rounded individuals ready to face the world with confidence.

From July 29th to July 31st, 2023, the 17th Uttarakhand State Chess Championship 2023 was held at Dikshant International School, Haldwani, showcasing extraordinary talent. Among them, Goenkan Samyakta Gupta from Grade VI brilliantly secured the 1st position. Her outstanding achievement not only brought glory to the school but also made her parents and mentors immensely proud. Samyakta's dedication and strategic thinking were evident throughout the championship, reflecting the school's commitment to nurturing excellence and fostering holistic development. Her success stands as an inspiration to fellow students, motivating them to strive for greatness in their pursuits.

On August 3rd, 2023, an Academic Audit for the session 2023, was conducted by a team from GD Goenka head office, New Delhi. The audit aimed to enhance educational practices, evaluate curriculum delivery, and improve learning outcomes as per NEP / NCF 2020. The visit from the experienced team provided valuable insights, fostering knowledge exchange and highlighting areas for growth. We are deeply honored by their guidance, which will undoubtedly contribute to our commitment in delivering quality education to the Goenkans and furthering excellence in all our endeavors keeping in mind the mission and vision of GD Goenka Schools.
