Day 4 of the workshop at Kheema Bisht SMIC, Khatima, was particularly special as it became a collaborative learning experience between the students of and the students of . The students of NPS, who had been trained by the Shivalik Children Science Foundation (SCSF), actively participated in the workshop by assisting in conducting activities and supporting the facilitator, Harsh*t Samant from SCSF, in various tasks during the session.

This workshop provided the NPS students with valuable exposure to the practical ex*****on and management of science workshops, allowing them to observe and understand how interactive learning sessions are conducted. At the same time, the students of Kheema Bisht SMIC actively engaged in the activities and learning process. The session thus became a platform for peer learning, collaboration, leadership development, and scientific interaction among students from both schools.

One of the activities conducted during the workshop was inspired by and is commonly conducted under Bal Vigyan Khojshala by Ashutosh Upadhyay Ji. Incorporating this activity into the session added further educational value and connected the students with innovative approaches to experiential science learning.

The workshop reflected the vision of the Shivalik Children Science Foundation in creating a student-driven learning environment where learners not only participate but also contribute to the teaching and facilitation process.

Science Awareness Session Conducted by Shivalik Children Science Foundation

Today, Shivalik Children Science Foundation organized a science awareness and educational session at Atal Utkrisht Inter College, phulchaur , haldwani for the students of classes 9 and 10. The main objective of the session was to promote scientific thinking, curiosity, and practical learning among students.

During the session, students learned about the concept of pressure difference and its applications in daily life. The team also explained why hydrocarbons are considered good fuels and discussed their importance and uses. Another topic covered during the session was surface tension, where students were introduced to its properties and examples through simple demonstrations and explanations.

The session was conducted in an interactive and engaging manner, encouraging students to actively participate and ask questions related to science and everyday phenomena.

Representing Shivalik Children Science Foundation, Sumit Pandey and Gaurav Pandey were present during the program. The foundation continues to work towards spreading scientific awareness and encouraging young minds through educational outreach activities.

Project उम्मीद – Day 3 at Kheema Bisht

Day 3 continued with exciting hands-on activities and scientific exploration across all classes.

🔹 Classes 4th & 5th
Students were introduced to the concept of motion and action–reaction through engaging activities like the Balloon Rocket and a rotating bottle experiment using straws. These activities helped them observe how force and motion work in everyday life in a simple and interactive manner.

🔹 Classes 6th to 8th
Students performed activities based on Acid–Base Indicators. Around 8 different sample substances were tested using 4 indicators — Litmus Paper, pH Paper, China Rose Extract, and Turmeric Indicator. The session encouraged observation, comparison, and scientific thinking.

🔹 Classes 9th to 11th
Senior students also explored Acid–Base Indicators in detail along with additional experiments on Electrolysis of Brine and Reaction of Acid with Metal. These activities helped students understand chemical reactions, gas formation, and practical applications of chemistry concepts.

Today we successfully started our new project with classes 7th to 10th. It was day one of discussions, and the response from the kids and management was great! The Shivalik Children Science Foundation team was present throughout to guide everyone.
A major milestone today was the formal establishment of the Science Club "Scikart" 🧪✨ This club will be our main platform for all upcoming experiments, models, and activities.
This was just the intro and nomination phase. Regular, continuous sessions will officially begin in July and run through the academic year until March 2027. We have a lot of exciting hands-on workshops planned!
A big thank you to the team members who made today smooth. The final list of nominated student names will be out very soon. Let's work together to make this year-long project a huge success! 👍
