A Special Interaction and Intensive Survey was conducted at PM SHRI Chandralal Sharma Government Senior Secondary School, Chujachen, as part of an initiative to understand and assess the functioning, requirements, achievements and future prospects of the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL). The interaction was conducted by Mr. Souvik Ghosh from Learning Links Foundation, associated with Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, New Delhi.
The primary objective of the interaction and survey was to gain a comprehensive understanding of the schoolโs ATL activities, studentsโ participation, innovation practices, available resources, achievements, challenges and areas requiring further support. The survey also focused on identifying the requirements that could help the school further strengthen its innovation ecosystem and provide students with better opportunities for experimentation, tinkering, technology-based learning and problem-solving.
Students from Class XII IT, Class XII Science, Class VI and Class X actively participated in the interaction and survey. The students shared their experiences of working in the ATL, their exposure to innovation and technology, and their expectations regarding future activities and resources. They also participated in discussions related to their innovative ideas, projects and learning experiences.
The interaction provided an opportunity for the students to directly communicate their aspirations and requirements with the visiting representative. The students were encouraged to continue exploring innovative ideas, develop solutions to real-life problems and make effective use of the ATL facilities available in the school.
The Vice-Principal and ATL In-charge were present throughout the interaction and survey and facilitated the participation of the students. Their presence helped in providing the necessary institutional information regarding ATL activities, student engagement, achievements and the schoolโs future requirements.
A significant outcome of the interaction was the assurance that the requirements and suggestions identified through the survey would be considered for appropriate support in the future, based on the needs submitted by the school. This assurance has encouraged the school to continue strengthening its ATL activities and creating more opportunities for students to develop creativity, innovation, scientific thinking and technological skills.
The interaction was highly productive and provided valuable insight into the present status and future potential of the schoolโs ATL. It also strengthened the connection between the school and the wider Atal Innovation Mission ecosystem, encouraging the school community to continue its efforts towards building a culture of innovation.
The school expresses its sincere gratitude to Mr. Souvik Ghosh, Learning Links Foundation, and Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, New Delhi, for conducting the special interaction and intensive survey and for their valuable guidance and assurance of future support.
Conclusion:
The survey and interaction were an enriching experience for both students and the school. The school looks forward to implementing the suggestions emerging from the survey and further developing its ATL as a centre for innovation, creativity, scientific temper and experiential learning.
