District Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 Successfully Organized at JTGMDC Roing
The District Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 was successfully conducted on 05 March 2025 at Jomin Tayeng Government Model Degree College (JTGMDC), Roing. The programme was organized by the NSS Unit of JTGMDC, Roing in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and MY Bharat, under the flagship initiative Viksit Bharat Abhiyan.
Core Debate: Reflecting on Democratic Values
The central attraction of the programme was a thought-provoking debate on the theme
“50 Years of Emergency: Lessons for Indian Democracy.”
Participants critically examined the historical context and implications of the 1975 Emergency, highlighting the strength and resilience of India’s democratic institutions. The discussion emphasized the significance of safeguarding civil liberties and encouraged the youth to uphold constitutional values in the journey toward a Viksit Bharat.
Distinguished Jury Panel
The debate and deliberations were evaluated by a distinguished four-member jury panel comprising:
1. Shri Gemin Pertin – Zila Parishad Member, Parbuk Block
2. Shri Komji Linggi – Zila Parishad Member, Roing Block
3. Ms. Tamanna Badu – Zila Parishad Member, Meka-Jia Block
4. Dr. Rajeko Dele – Associate Professor, Arunachal Pradesh State University, Pasighat
Participation and Audience
Despite the geographical challenges and remoteness of the Lower Dibang Valley and Dibang Valley districts, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation.
• Total Registrations: 54 volunteers
• Final Participation: 20 participants (owing to the remote location)
• Audience: Approximately 100 attendees witnessed the parliamentary simulation.

Event Highlights
InauguralSession:
The programme commenced with a welcome address and keynote speech delivered by the Principal of JTGMDC, Roing, who highlighted the vision and roadmap toward India@2047.
Members of the jury shared valuable insights and constructive feedback, encouraging the participants to connect historical understanding with responsible governance in the future.

The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Okiling Lego, Nodal Officer and NSS Programme Officer, who appreciated the collective efforts that ensured the successful organization of this district-level programme.
The programme concluded with the message:
“Understanding our past is the first step toward building a resilient future.”

CONGRATUALATIONS TO THE WINNER

Eight students of JTGMD College participated in the zonal level debate competition held at IGG College, Tezu on 15 November 2025. The event was organized under the APLA@50 Outreach Connect, celebrating democracy and inspiring future leaders on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly (1975–2025).

Two students from JTGMD College — Eeha Mimi (for the motion) and Aju Linggi (against the motion) won the Best Speaker awards. They have been selected to compete at the state-level round, which will be held at RGU on 25 November 2025.

IX ANNUAL COLLEGE DAY CELEBRATION - 2025

Theme: Igniting Minds, Inspiring Change
The campus of Jomin Tayeng Government Model Degree College came alive with enthusiasm and youthful energy as the IX Annual College Day Celebration 2025 unfolded over three vibrant days of inspiration, creativity, and togetherness.
The celebration was inaugurated on 6th November 2025, with Shri Puinnyo Apum, Hon’ble MLA, 42-Dambuk (ST) Assembly Constituency, gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, and Shri Ringu Ngupok, APPS, Superintendent of Police, Roing, as Guest of Honour.
The event pandal was graciously sponsored by Shri Ringu Ngupok, while Shri Puinnyo Apum generously gifted two new music systems to the college, adding to the joy and spirit of the occasion.
The college also had the honour of welcoming Shri Bassu Perme (Ex-MLA & Land Donor of the JTGMDC Complex), Ami Lego (Deputy Director of Secondary Education, Lower Dibang Valley), and respected Gaon Buras - Shri Ade Pertin (Kundung Banggo), Shri Apaying Libang (Jia), Shri Getem Minno (Meka - Roing), along with Shri Vijay Pertin, Mandal President, 42-Dambuk(ST)Assembly Constituency.
The morning began with a soulful Welcome Song, followed by the Principal’s Address and Felicitation of Guests. A special dance performance by the students added colour and excitement to the atmosphere.
A three-point memorandum was presented by Miss Ayang Lego, General Secretary of the Students’ Union Body, highlighting the developmental needs and aspirations of the student community.
Both the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour delivered powerful and motivational speeches, addressing the growing menace of drug use among youth and emphasizing the need to balance academics with co-curricular activities. Their words deeply inspired the gathering to lead purposeful, disciplined, and value-driven lives.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mr. Ogam Perme, Assistant General Secretary, after which students showcased their creativity through a fascinating “Waste to Art” Exhibition, promoting sustainability and innovation.
A thrilling Friendly Football Match between Team Principal XI and DASU (Dibang Adi Students’ Union) added sporting spirit to the day. Team Principal XI emerged victorious with goals from Mr. Joel Komut (Guest Lecturer, Dept. of Political Science) and Mr. Katet Pertin (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Economics).
As evening fell, the campus lit up for a spectacular Cultural Night, judged by Mr. Karnoi Mega (Arunachal Idol participant), Ms. Esha Mimi (Assistant Dept. of Geography), and Shri Makyem Ngupok (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Economics). The night featured soulful songs, graceful dances, and electrifying performances from the Red, Yellow, and Green Houses.
A special highlight of the night was a live performance by Mr. Karnoi Mega, which captivated the audience and earned thunderous applause. The entire evening was beautifully anchored by Dr. Tunung Tabing, (Assistant, Dept. of Hindi, and Cultural In-Charge), whose engaging presence tied the programme together seamlessly.
The celebrations will continue with more exciting events on the 7th and 8th of November, culminating in the Valedictory Function at 4:00 PM on 8th November 2025.
The IX Annual College Day truly lives up to its theme - “Igniting Minds, Inspiring Change” - celebrating not only learning but also creativity, character, and community spirit.

Report on Internship Seminar of BA V Semester (NEP-2020 FYUP)

The Internship Seminar of BA V Semester under the NEP-2020 Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) was successfully conducted today. The students had undertaken a six-week internship during the summer vacation in different organizations and institutes to acquire practical skills and innovative ideas. After preparing their reports with the guidance of supervisors from the respective organizations and their mentor teachers, the seminar and viva-voce were successfully culminated.

For presentation, the students were divided into five groups based on the internship-providing organizations and institutes they had chosen. Officials from RIWATCH, Nani Maria Society, ArLSM, District Library, and ICDS graced the occasion as External Examiners and evaluated the presentations.

Our institute expresses its sincere gratitude to the internship-providing organizations of Roing for their valuable support and cooperation. We look forward to continued collaboration in the coming years for nurturing and grooming young minds.
