IIM Rohtak is the eighth IIM approved by the Union Cabinet on August 27, 2009. Incidentally it is also North India’s first IIM, and the only IIM in the Delhi-NCR region. The institute is being mentored by IIM Lucknow in its formative years. The institute started functioning on June 30, 2010 from its temporary campus located in Maharishi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak. The permanent campus is un

der construction at township of Sunaria near Rohtak city. The institute offers: 2 year flagship Post-Graduate Programme in Management & a Fellow Programme in Management. The programme intends to produce world-class managers and leaders through its philosophy of exposing students to real life unstructured situations apart from imbibing them with knowledge of the analytical tools and business philosophies required to be a success in the current, and foreseeable, economic scenario. A case based method of pedagogy is being followed by the institute to this effect.

IIM Rohtak had the opportunity to welcome Mr. Kunal Agarwal, Founder, CredFlow, for an engaging session on “Hard Things About Hard Things.”

The session provided students with insights on entrepreneurship, building businesses, and navigating uncertainty in today's world. Drawing from his experiences building CredFlow and his earlier ventures, Mr. Agarwal shared practical lessons on testing ideas fast rather than over-perfecting them, building meaningful networks and mentorship along the way, and hiring for culture and human quotient over skill alone as a business scales.

He spoke about staying resilient through uncertain phases of growth, absorbing pressure as a leader rather than broadcasting every setback, and being willing to cut costs and course-correct when survival demands it. He also reflected on the importance of finding meaning in one's work and focusing on what is within one's control, even as uncertainty remains a constant.

The session offered students a grounded perspective on entrepreneurship beyond the classroom, underscoring that building a successful venture is as much about persistence, learning, and people as it is about the idea itself.

IIM Rohtak was delighted to host Mr. Moonis Siddique, Head – Digital Sales, Sales Strategy & Sales Training, Morris Garages (MG) India, for an insightful session on "Automotive Industry: Selling Cars to Selling Mobility, Technology & Experience." The session provided students with valuable insights into how digital transformation, hyperlocal strategies, and evolving consumer behaviour are reshaping the automotive industry.

Drawing from 18 years of experience across sales, digital transformation, and channel development, Mr. Siddique walked students through the auto industry's evolution from the License Raj era to today's digital-first customer journey. The session covered network design, OEM-dealer dynamics, and a real case study on MG's hyperlocal growth strategy with Mahindra.

Prof. Dheeraj Sharma, Director, IIM Rohtak, unfurled the National Flag and addressed the gathering, highlighting India’s remarkable progress and the contributions of visionaries while encouraging students to recognise their role as future technocrats and contribute to the nation’s continued progress. The institute then honoured the outstanding academic achievers from the PGP, IPM, and IPL programmes , recognising their dedication, perseverance, and pursuit of excellence.
