🚒🧯🧯 When Awareness Becomes the Shield: A Fire Safety Mock Drill 🚒🧯🧯
"Safety is not merely a lesson to be learnt; it is a habit to be practised."
To foster a culture of preparedness and responsibility, Model School organized a Fire Safety Mock Drill, providing students with invaluable knowledge about fire prevention, emergency response, and life-saving measures. The awareness session was conducted by District Fire Officer and City Station In-charge, Mr. Jasmed, along with Fire Brigade Operator Mr. Satish Malik, who enlightened the students about the causes of fire accidents and the precautions that can help prevent them.
Through an informative demonstration, Mr. Jasmed explained the correct use of a fire extinguisher and showcased effective methods to control fire during its initial stages. Mr. Satish Malik also provided practical guidance on different types of fires and the appropriate techniques to extinguish them safely. Students were guided on how to respond calmly and sensibly during emergencies, ensuring their own safety while assisting others whenever possible. The officials further informed everyone about the Government of India's unified emergency helpline number, 112, which can be contacted for immediate assistance in any emergency.
The practical demonstrations captivated the students, transforming theoretical knowledge into meaningful learning. The session instilled confidence and reinforced the importance of alertness, presence of mind, discipline, teamwork, and timely action during unforeseen situations.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Aruna Taneja appreciated the initiative and emphasized that such mock drills are not mere formalities but essential life skills that prepare students to face real-life emergencies with confidence. She inspired them to become responsible and compassionate citizens, reminding them that in moments of crisis, humanity should always come before curiosity. Instead of merely recording videos or becoming silent spectators, one should immediately seek help, inform the concerned authorities, and extend every possible support to those in distress. Every timely action, she said, has the power to save a precious life.
The mock drill concluded with a renewed commitment to the values of awareness, preparedness, and social responsibility. It served as a powerful reminder that true courage lies not only in protecting oneself but also in standing beside others when they need help the most.
