School Bag Policy 2020
The West Bengal School Education Department, the Paschim Banga Samagra Shiksha Mission (PBSSM), has issued guidelines in government and aided schools (Memo No. 106/22/Ped/PBSSM/Misc dated 22 May 2026) capping school bag weight at a maximum of 10% of a child's body weight.

It is requested in the letter to adopt relevant suggestions of the School Bag Policy 2020, NEP, 2020 and ensure their implementation in the State level.

For the pre-primary Classes where the average body weight of a child is between 10kg and 16kg, there should be “no bag” at all. The directive aims to protect students from spinal strain, poor posture, and backaches, with regular bag-weight checks now mandatory.

Faculty Development Programme

Today, a FDP was organised at SkillZoom Kids School, Rishra for our teaching staff. The main purpose of this programme was to enhance the skills and knowledge, which would help them in nurturing our students.

Indeed, it was a remarkable learning day as the FDP Expert explained the finer aspects of teaching pedagogy and approaches to managing young learners in the classroom.

By incorporating enhanced teaching tools, such programmes would help our teachers to improve the QUALITY OF TEACHING, thus, creating a more enriched learning experience for our students.

Importance of REGULARITY in kid's learning

While attempting to record a flawless clip of synchronised counting from 1 to 50 and claiming another milestones, we could make this video (recording date: 25 September 2025).

We observed that some students didn’t count properly! Why? What happened to them? Why didn’t they count?

We discovered that these children were irregular in attending school. Consequently, their ability for ongoing learning was hampered.

We conclude that REGULAR CLASS ATTENDANCE and PUNCTUALITY improve students' understanding and influence effective learning.

Teacher-students interaction in the classroom

The various types of fruits and vegetables were showcased by the Class teacher in the class. Effective learning requires a two-way communication approach with students, complemented by samples of items (for example, fruits and vegetables) in the classroom.

Here, the Class teacher is showing the advantages of consuming apples regularly to maintain good health.
