AIIMS Rishikesh organized the programme “Transforming Lives Through Advanced Trauma Care, Organ Donation & Nursing Excellence” in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd.).Hon’ble Governor appreciated AIIMS Rishikesh as a centre of “faith, trust and lifesaving healthcare” and lauded the institute’s advanced trauma services, heli-medical emergency service, telemedicine and drone-based healthcare initiatives. He also described the Trauma Department as a “Sankatmochak Department” for the state. Prof. Meenu Singh, Executive Director & CEO, AIIMS Rishikesh, highlighted the institute’s achievements in trauma care, organ transplantation, telemedicine and nursing excellence. Col. Binu Sharma (Retd.) graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.The programme also honoured families of organ donors and transplant donors for their noble contribution towards saving lives and spreading awareness about organ donation.

The 6th Convocation of AIIMS Rishikesh was held with pride and academic excellence on 23 April 2026. Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan ji graced the ceremony as Chief Guest and conferred degrees and prestigious awards to meritorious students. 🎓
The occasion was further dignified by the august presence of Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd.); Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami; and Hon’ble Minister of State (Health & Family Welfare), Smt. Anupriya Patel as Guests of Honour.
Distinguished present dignitaries also included Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat (Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha), Shri Mahendra Bhatt, and Shri Naresh Bansal (Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha) as Special Guests.
The ceremony featured the institute report presentation by Prof. (Dr.) Meenu Singh, release of the annual chronicle “Rudraksha”, inspiring addresses by dignitaries, and the awarding of gold medals to outstanding students.

A 16-year-old boy with accidental aspiration of a pin was successfully treated at . The pin lodged in the right bronchus was skillfully removed using rigid & flexible bronchoscopy through a multidisciplinary effort involving Pediatric Pulmonology, Interventional Pulmonology, Pediatric Surgery & Anesthesia teams. The child is stable post-procedure.
