With profound grief and deep respect, we mourn the passing of Major General Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri (Retd.), a visionary leader, a dedicated soldier, and an exceptional statesman who devoted his life to the service of the nation.

An inspiring personality who wore many hats with dignity and excellence, he served as a Former Union Minister and two-time Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, leaving behind a legacy marked by integrity, simplicity, and unwavering discipline. His contributions to nation-building, especially during his tenure under the leadership of Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, remain etched in the history of modern India.

One of his most remarkable achievements was his instrumental role in the development of the Golden Quadrilateral Network of Highways, a project that transformed connectivity across the country and accelerated India’s economic progress. His vision extended far beyond infrastructure—he worked tirelessly for the balanced and sustainable growth of Uttarakhand, always prioritizing the welfare of its people.

He was not just a leader but a guiding force, admired for his honesty, humility, and commitment to public service. His life continues to inspire generations to serve with dedication and uphold the highest values of leadership.
