When we release our ideas, thoughts, and concepts, we make space for our true mind. Our true mind is silent of all words and all notions, and is so much vaster than limited mental constructs. Only when the ocean is calm and quiet can we see the moon reflected in it.
Silence is ultimately something that comes from the heart, not from any set of conditions outside us. Living from a place of silence doesn’t mean never talking, never engaging or doing things; it simply means that we are not disturbed inside; there isn’t constant internal chatter. If we’re truly silent, then no matter what situation we find ourselves in, we can enjoy the sweet spaciousness of silence.

This body is a moving temple of God and all our activities such as:- walking, eating, breathing, seeing, hearing, reading, etc., are offerings unto the Lord.

Happiness is in the mind, and the mind is supported by the body – a healthy mind lives in a healthy body. Your happiness depends on your mind and it depends on your body. Without physical health you can't be completely happy, and without mental happiness you can't be completely healthy. Health is a positive state; not just the absence of a negative one. It's not only the absence of disease. For too long now traditional Western medicine has treated illness as only a disease: an enemy that attacks you and needs to be counter-attacked; but in reality it's nothing more than an imbalance in the natural harmony of body and mind. True healing means restoring that balance, and true health means keeping it.

Yogic way of sleeping:
=================
Getting a full eight hours of sleep is essential for a yogi to have a focused and clear mind, a rested and energized body, a robust immune system, and a happy heart. Ideally, a yogi schedules their sleep time to be able to wake up at sunrise—the best time of day to practice yoga or meditation. To achieve deep and peaceful sleep, yogis should aim to minimize mental stimulation before bedtime and instead engage in light-hearted and positive activities like reading, gentle yoga, or guided meditation.

Understanding Yoga as a Religion is a mistake
==================================
Yoga is a way of cultivating wholeness, remembering and recognizing this wholeness everywhere – for many yogis, that is the spiritual side of the practice.
You can believe in a God or gods, or nothing at all. Sometimes working through asanas can be like a prayer – moving quietly, reverently, focused on the breath. But equally your prayer could come the next day, when you feel a jolt of recognition and completion, and are taken back to how you felt when you were truly in the moment, on the mat.

Once we feel unified and connected, we will access a deep well of joy that does not diminish when shared. Yoga doesn't just lift our spirits. It lifts our lives. It opens our eyes to the essence of who we are, and therein lies peace. Therein lies the happiness.

Before you start getting into Yoga Sutra, the most important thing to keep in mind is; the more intense you rush for excitement, the less your capacity to experience. This is why there is a lot of excitement in the world today, but very little experiene. Never before have to many different kinds of pleasure been available in the world. Even in the ancient scriptures the descriptions of heaven do not mention such a wealth of pleasure. Everything imaginable has been realised; science has made our dreams come true. There are so many different methods to experience so much - but the experiencer, the man, has become totally insensitive.

Fasting is a very natural process and we all do fasting, even though it is for the night when you are asleep. In India, many indian women practice regular fasting as per their religious culture. Sometime they fast for one day and sometime, they fast even for 1 week. During long fast, they usually take fruits only. Fasting has a great importance in all religions. Fasting combines with yogic practices has been found to be very useful for our digestive system. If fasting is not done for religious purpose, it should be at least done for health reasons..

The Hindu scriptures point out that belief in the nonexis- tence of matter and the allness of Spirit should not be founded on dogmatic, illogical, unintelligible, or inexplicable theories, but on scientific inner investigation and exact understanding... People generally identify themselves with the body, which is supported by food; but they fail to realize that the basic source of bodily existence is prana (life energy).* No food or other outer aid can revive a man from whom the cosmic cur- rent has withdrawn.

Try this if you can't sleep at night:
=========================
Start by switching off the light and getting into bed. Adopt the shavasana position and rest your head on the pillow, although this should not be too high. Allow your hands to relax into the most comfortable position, probably palms up. If you have a sagging mattress it may be a good idea to support it with boards underneath. The procedure is the same as for the first short practice. Start by listening to the external sounds and then become aware of the meeting points between your body and the bed. Follow this with two or three rotations of consciousness around the body and this will normally put you to sleep. If necessary you can continue the practice with mental alternate nostril breathing, starting at 54 and counting backwards to 1. If sleep does not come, a good idea would be to go for example a long walk.
