CCSHAU College of Agriculture Bawal The College of Agriculture, Bawal was established in 2015 as one of the constituent colleges of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar. The foundation stone of the college was laid on 25 Feb. 2017, by the Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Manohar Lal and Professor K.P. Singh, Vice-Chancellor was present on the occasion. Bawal is a municipality in Rewari District in the state of Haryana and lie in the National Capital Region (NCR) of India. It is located on National Highway NH 48 (formerly called NH 8), about 14 km from Rewari city, 100 km from Delhi, National Capital and 185 km from Hisar University main campus. Bawal is located at the coordinates latitude of 28.090 N and longitude 76.590 E and altitude of 256 M above sea level. The Mandate/Objectives of the College is nurturing scholarly education in Agriculture with the following academic programme: Graduate programme leading to B.Sc. (Hons.) in Agriculture {4 Year and 6 Year (2+4) programme}. Admission to the college is based on the merit list of the entrance examination conducted by the university. Facilities and infrastructure Academic Block College of Agriculture, Bawal consists of newly constructed spacious block having cross ventilated lecture rooms, separate labs for each subject, computer lab, air conditioned committee room and library, lash green lawns, diversity gardens, pollution free large campus area having 250 acres. Hostel Facilities There are two well Furnished hostels one each for girls and boys. Both hostels have separate mess, common room and gym facilities for students. The mess is co-operative type managed by the student themselves. English and Hindi Newspapers and competitive magazines are regularly subscribed in the common rooms. Televisions with D2H connections are also provided in each Hostel. Separate hostel wardens and attendants are appointed to take care of the welfare of students. Solar lights Solar lights have been provided in the whole campus. Co-curricular Activities One senior faculty member is designated as Associate Director of Students Welfare (ADSW) associated by Co-coordinators sports, NCC, NSS to cater the needs of all Co-curricular Activities such as Mountaineering and Adventure, Music, Dance, Dramatics, debate etc. For promotion of these activities, the ADSW always keeps live liaison with DSW office at main campus (Hisar). Regular classes, training/coaching, various training/workshops are arranged from time to time through counseling and placement cell. Medical Facilities A dispensary is established at Bawal campus to fulfill medical needs of staff as well as students. Students Achievement • First position in Rangoli competition held at CCSHAU, Hisar 23-24 December, 2018 • Surender participated in sportech 2018 at IIT Delhi and by 3rd position. • Participated in All India Agri-sports meet at UAS, Bangalore. • Merit scholarship. • Selected in All India Inter University Activities undertaken by college during 2018-19 • Sixty seven students admitted in B.Sc. (Hons) Ag 1st – 6 year programme including 11 girl students. • A spacious academic block of college consisting of science (biology, chemistry, physics) and computer laboratories, ventilated lecture rooms, AC committee room and library hall made functional. • Made functional boys and girl’s hostels with double occupancy having separate dinning TV room, common room and gym facilities for students. • Organized two cleanliness campaigns on 01.09.2018 and 02.10.2018 • Organized awareness campaign about POSCO and juvenile justice (care and protection of children) act -2015 in collaboration with child welfare committee, Rewari (18.10.2018) • Organized orientation programme (11.09.2018) • Organized fresher’s day (19.09.2018) • Organized motivational lectures (15.08.2018) • Celebrated pollution free Dusshera without crackers (19.10.2018) • Organized inter class game of volleyball, Kabaddi and badminton boys and girls students (24-29.09.2018) • Twenty nine students participated in inter college championship held at CCS HAU, Hisar (16.-29.10.2018) • Installation and inauguration of solar light at COA, Bawal by State Minister Dr B. Lal in the presence of Prof. K. P. Singh Worthy Vice Chancellor, CCS HAU, Hisar (14.06.2018) • The Agricultural Education Day on 3rd December 2018 was celebrated on the premises of CCSHAU College of Agriculture, Bawal to commemorate the Birth Day of Bharat Ratna, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, First President of Independent India. Dr Rajendra Prasad was also the first Agriculture Minister of the country; the main purpose of agriculture education day is to attract talent towards agricultural education. • College of Agriculture Bawal celebrated World Soil Day on 5th December, 2018. All the staff members and 131 students participated in the function.
