Ambasal cheran momin the only musician from Shillong and classical double bassist from India got selected to perform the Carmina Burana Concerts with the Philharmonie of university Vienna Wien where 26 musician of India National Youth Orchestra & Chorus got selected to perform on 18th June 2023 at Konzerthaus Vienna, These concerts are in celebration of the 75 years of Diplomatic Relations between India and Austria. Later Austrian musicians will also later travel to India to have their concert Lucknow: 29th October 2023. New Delhi: 31st October 2023.
A full time musician, Ambasal is specialise in violin, bass guitar and Classical Double bass, He is currently studying Music in Vienna as a double bassists, He was also a part of 2 season London International Arts Festival from Bangalore string ensemble, he has performed many Occasions and Government events like weddings, concerts, reality Tv Show like Sa re ga ma pa of zee kannada, Ede tumbi Haaduvenu Color TV, he have recorded for 5 or 6 South Indian movies as a Double bassist with the bangalore string ensemble, he played a background music as a violinist for the Garo Movie ma'ama that won many awards which was directed by Dominic megam Sangma.
His journey being a musician, supported himself as a cleaner at one of the church at Nongthymmai, with the amount of Rs.300 to pay off his violin class at Arnest Memorial Music School Nongthymmai under the teaching of Pyntngen Nongbri. He also started working as a casual peon for almost 6 years at Meghalaya Secretariat in various department and thereafter he moved to Bangalore in search for a better opportunity to work as a Violin teacher. While in Bangalore he auditioned to study Music abroad and was selected for the studies at Royal Northern College of music and Trinity Laban conservatory both in UK but unfortunately he could not make it due to financial needs not met.
He aims to be a music educator and also help Violinists as a teacher. Some of them are already teaching in Shillong, Tura and Resubelpara. String section is one of the least liked instruments in our society, he aims to raise and train more in the future. He is also one of the Music faculty at Venia Music School at Resubelpara to teach music for the underprivileged students in rural areas.
