UDAAN - A FLIGHT OF CREATIVITY 2026
Venue: Advanced Technical Training Centre (ATTC), Bardang, Singtam
Organized by: Rotary Club and Inner Wheel Club, Gangtok

CM SHRI RALONG SS, NAMCHI DISTRICT feels immense joy and pride to share that our students actively participated in UDAAN - The Flight of Creativity, a unique platform dedicated to celebrating curiosity, courage, knowledge, creativity and the extraordinary potential of young minds.

The event was held on 27th September 2026 at ATTC, Bardang, where 100+ schools from across Sikkim came together to showcase their talent, intellect and imagination.

Our team of 11 participants was escorted by Miss Anjal Rai.

OUR REPRESENTATIVES:

MIDDLE SECTION (Class V - VIII)

SENIOR SECTION (Class IX - XII)
1. Quiz Competition - Sangay Chopel Bhutia, Class IX and Suzal Limboo, Class IX

3. Creative Writing - Sinchella Bhutia, Class IX
4. Science Project Presentation - Lhamu Tashi Bhutia, Class X and Iyushi Tamang, Class X

All our students performed with great confidence, discipline and enthusiasm, making our school proud.

FELICITATION IN MORNING ASSEMBLY:

Today, in the special morning assembly, all the participants were felicitated and handed over their Certificates of Participation by our School In-charge Maam Smt. Sankey Doma Bhutia. The entire school applauded their effort and courage to compete at a state-level platform.

We would like to heartily express our deepest gratitude to the Rotary Club, Gangtok, Inner Wheel Club, Gangtok and the entire organizing team of UDAAN for giving our rural students such a beautiful and big platform to learn, explore, compete and grow. Such experiences go far beyond textbooks and help our children believe in their own wings.

OBSERVANCE OF 11th AYURVEDA DAY

The 11th Ayurveda Day was observed in the school today with great enthusiasm on the theme Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow.

In the morning assembly, Miss Lhamu Tashi Bhutia, Discipline Captain, delivered a speech on Ayurveda and its importance in daily life, highlighting the three focal areas of this year's campaign. This was followed by a quiz conducted by Miss Leeja Gurung, Literary Prefect, on Ayurveda, in which students participated actively.

On 22nd September 2026, a special Health and Wellness class was conducted on Ayurveda and promotion of a healthy lifestyle for the students of Class 6 and 7. The session was followed by stretching exercises.

An essay writing competition was also encouraged for Class 8 students on the main theme and its sub-themes.

Sub-themes for 2026 as per Ministry of Ayush are:
1. Integrative Healthcare for Better Health Outcomes
2. Evidence, Research and Innovation in Ayurveda
3. Ayurveda for Community Wellbeing and Sustainable Living

The program helped in creating awareness among students about our traditional system of medicine and healthy living.

As part of the September month activity under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) programme, our school successfully organised an activity featuring traditional games of the paired State, Delhi, on 21st September 2026.
The event focused on introducing secondary students from Classes IX and X to popular local sports of Delhi, including Pitthu (Seven Stones), Rassi Kood (Rope Skipping) and Tug of War. Through these activities, students gained a firsthand appreciation of Delhi’s street sports culture while developing physical agility, strategic thinking and strong team spirit on the field.
The interactive session encouraged active participation across all students, creating an atmosphere of lively learning beyond the classroom. The activity concluded with light refreshments for everyone.

International Literacy Day 2026

Our school observed International Literacy Day on 8th September 2026 to spread awareness about the importance of literacy and the role it plays in our everyday lives. The day was marked with activities that encouraged students to value reading, writing, communication and lifelong learning.

Students were encouraged to develop good reading habits, express their thoughts confidently and understand how literacy helps us learn, grow and participate meaningfully in society. The celebration also reflected the 2026 theme “Literacy for People, the Planet and Prosperity” reminding us that literacy helps us learn, grow and build a better future together.

Participation in School Games 2026 - BAC Level

11 September 2026: Students of CM Shri Government Secondary School, Ralong participated in the School Games 2026 - BAC Level held at PM Shri VCGL Sr. Secondary School Rabangla today.

A total of 13 students from our school participated in various athletic events under the guidance of PET Miss Karma Doma Bhutia.

Achievements:

- 100m Race (Boys): Master Jona Rai secured 1st Position
- 1500m Race Miss Priyanka secured 1st Position
- 1500m Race: Miss Prashanti secured 2nd Position
- 100m Race (Girls): Miss Priyanka Rai secured 3rd Position

Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 - Cleanliness Drive

CM Shri Government Secondary School, Ralong organized a Cleanliness Drive on 11th September, 2026 as part of Swachhata Pakhwada 2026.

As part of the drive, all classrooms were swept and dusted, school surroundings were cleaned, and the laboratory and library were cleaned and rearranged.

All students and staff members actively participated in the programme.

Today, our primary students demonstrated proper hand washing using SUMAN K Technique (Sulta, Ulta, Mutthi, Angutha, Nakhun, Kalai).

A PROUD MOMENT FOR OUR SCHOOL

We are overjoyed to share that our esteemed faculty, Miss Tenzing Ongmu Bhutia, has been honoured with the State Award for Innovation at the State Level Teachers' Day Celebration held at Manan Kendra, Gangtok on 5th September 2026.

She received the award from the hands of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim for her exemplary innovation "Podcast - Help Me To Help You" and her valuable contribution to school education in Sikkim under the Mero School Mero Abhiyan initiative.

Her dedication, creativity and commitment towards innovative teaching has brought great pride to our entire school fraternity.
