REPORT ON “EK PED MAA KE NAAM 3.0”Name of the School: Eternal English School

Eternal English School organised “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0”, a special tree plantation programme, on 11 September 2026 with the active participation of students, mothers, teachers and the Principal. The campaign is a significant environmental initiative that was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, on 5 June 2024, on the occasion of World Environment Day, with the inspiring message of planting a tree in the name of one’s mother.

The programme began with a warm welcome address by Mr. Tilak Rai, Senior-most Teacher, who welcomed the Principal, mothers, teachers and students and expressed his happiness at their enthusiastic participation in the programme.
Thereafter, the Principal addressed the assembly and highlighted the key objectives and significance of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. He emphasised that planting trees is not only an act of environmental responsibility but also a meaningful expression of love and respect towards mothers. He encouraged the students to nurture and protect the saplings they planted.

The students then presented an informative and inspiring skit on “Save Trees”, conveying the importance of forests, trees and a clean and healthy environment. The performance effectively created awareness among the students and participants about the harmful consequences of deforestation and the need to protect nature.
Following the skit, a rally was organised by the school. Students carried postcards, placards and banners bearing messages and slogans related to environmental protection, tree plantation and the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. The rally helped spread the message of environmental conservation and encouraged the community to participate in protecting nature.

The main highlight of the programme was the tree plantation drive. Students planted saplings of various trees, fruit-bearing plants and flowering plants in the name of their mothers. Their mothers also participated actively and enthusiastically in the plantation activity. The plantation drive was conducted in the presence of the Principal, class teachers, mothers and students, making the occasion meaningful and memorable for everyone. The participation of mothers added a special emotional significance to the programme and strengthened the bond between family, school and nature.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Principal, who expressed sincere gratitude to all the mothers, teachers, students and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the event. The participants also took the message of nurturing and protecting the planted saplings as a continuing responsibility.

The programme was a great success and provided the students with an opportunity to understand that planting a tree is a contribution towards a greener, healthier and more sustainable future. The enthusiastic involvement of mothers and students made “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0” a meaningful environmental awareness initiative of Eternal English School.

NOTE ON THE VISIT OF DEPARTMENTAL OFFICIALS
Date: 2/Sep/2026
Time of Arrival: 10:15 a.m.
Time of Departure: 11:40 a.m.

A visit of departmental officials(Education Department) was made to the school for the purpose of observing the overall functioning of the school, interacting with students and teachers, and reviewing the academic and administrative arrangements.
The officials who visited the school were:
Mr. K. K. Sharma – J.D., Rangpo Sub-Division
Mr. Subash Giri – Deputy Director, BEO, Duga, BAC.

The officials arrived at the school at around 10:15 a.m. and were formally welcomed by the Principal. During their visit, they undertook a round of the school and visited all the classes from Nursery to Class V. They observed the classroom environment and interacted with the students to understand their learning experiences and level of participation.
The officials also interacted with the students and enquired about the teachers and the teaching-learning process being followed in the school. The students responded confidently to their questions, and the officials appreciated their responses and overall interaction.
As part of the administrative inspection, the officials also checked the teachers' attendance registers and reviewed the maintenance of the relevant school records.

During the visit, the officials expressed their concern regarding certain aspects of the school infrastructure and advised the school authorities to take necessary steps to address the identified issues.
The officials were impressed by the responses, confidence and participation of the students during their interaction. Their visit provided valuable guidance and encouragement to the school authorities and staff to continue working towards improving the overall quality of education and school facilities.

At the conclusion of the visit, the officials appreciated the efforts of the school and conveyed their best wishes for the continued progress and development of the school, teachers and students.

A proud and memorable moment for Eternal English School as our boys recorded their first-ever win in an Inter-School Tiger 5 Tournament, organized by Syaplay Sardaray Secondary School as part of its 50th Golden Jubilee Celebration.

Our team put up a spirited performance, securing a 2–0 victory against Cheuribotay JHS. ⚽👏

We are deeply privileged and grateful to the Headmaster, the entire staff, and the Organizing Committee of Syaplay Sardaray Secondary School for including Eternal English School in such a prestigious event and, more importantly, for providing our students with a wonderful opportunity to gain experience, confidence and exposure beyond the classroom.

Well played, boys! Your teamwork, determination and fighting spirit made us proud. 💪⚽

A Tournament Beyond Medals – A Journey of Learning and Growth ♟️🏆

Nineteen students from Eternal English School proudly represented our school at the 3-Day Inter School Chess Tournament 2026 held in Gangtok and organized by the Sikkim Chess Association from 24th to 26th July 2026. For our young participants, aged between 6 and 13 years, this was much more than a chess tournament—it was a lifetime learning experience.

Competing alongside more than 500 participants from nearly 50 schools across Sikkim, our students stepped into one of the biggest chess events they had ever witnessed. While the tournament tested their chess skills, it also challenged them to become more confident, independent, and responsible.

We are delighted to share that two of our students brought home medals in the Under-7 Girls category:
🥇 Miss Chidanvi Dhimal (Class I)
🥇 Miss Kavya Dhakal (Class II)

Their achievement made the entire Eternal English School family proud.

At the same time, every one of our participants deserves appreciation. For many, this was their very first competitive chess tournament, and they played remarkably well, scoring between 2 and 4.5 points out of 9 rounds against experienced opponents from across the state.

But the greatest lessons were learned beyond the chessboard.

Our students learned to navigate a large tournament hall, locate their playing boards, understand tournament etiquette, call the arbiter whenever an opponent made an illegal move, and make independent decisions under pressure. During closely fought games, some even learned the art of negotiation by offering or accepting a draw at the right moment.

Outside the playing arena, friendships blossomed. It was heartwarming to watch our students interact with children from schools such as CM Modle School Assam Lingzey, Manjushri Public School, Amitabha School, and many others. They shared meals, exchanged ideas, made new friends, and unknowingly strengthened their communication and social skills.

The journey itself was equally inspiring. For three consecutive days, our students travelled from Pendam to Gangtok, woke up early each morning, returned home late in the evening, and came back the next day with the same enthusiasm and determination. At such a young age, this commitment, discipline, and sense of responsibility deserve as much appreciation as any medal.

One of the most memorable moments came during the closing ceremony. The stage was opened to students from every participating school to showcase their talent. To our surprise and immense pride, four of our students confidently stepped onto the stage and performed a dance before an audience of more than 500 people. Their courage and confidence beautifully reflected the spirit of learning beyond academics.

Looking back, the tournament taught lessons that no classroom alone could provide. Our students developed not only chess skills, but also communication skills, negotiation skills, confidence, responsibility, discipline, commitment, sportsmanship, and the ability to adapt to new environments.

More than the medals and certificates, these are the achievements that truly matter.

At Eternal English School, we strongly believe that when children are given opportunities and meaningful exposure, they grow, they learn, and they level up. This tournament was exactly that—a wonderful opportunity for our students to discover new strengths, build confidence, and return home as better learners and better individuals.

A heartfelt thank you to our coach, Saurav Sir, for his dedication and guidance, to the Sikkim Chess Association for organizing such a wonderful tournament, to Anmol Sir and Ganga Maam for assistance during the tournament and to all our parents for their constant encouragement, trust, and support. Our special thanks to Shri Mahindra Dhakal, General Secretary of Sikkim Chess Association for support, guidance and motivation. Together, we made this unforgettable journey possible.

Congratulations to all our young chess players! The medals are special, but the memories, friendships, confidence, and life lessons gained over these three days are priceless.

Heartiest congratulations to our distinguished alumna, Miss Bindiya Sharma, on successfully clearing the Radiological Safety Officer (Medical) Certification Examination conducted by the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC). This remarkable achievement makes her the first Medical Physicist from Sikkim and the first person from the state to earn this prestigious certification.

This milestone is a testament to Bindiya's unwavering commitment, hard work, and determination. Her success belongs to her and to the family whose constant love and support helped her reach this point.
