Hello All!
As the first and second-year students are about to move in for the first time, we have brought you a little beginners guide to the university. We hope this answers any queries that you might have with regards to joining the campus.

How to reach NUSRL from railway station/airport:
1. Book a cab by typing “NUSRL” in the search box of the app.
2. Autos are readily available at the railway stations as well as airports.
Auto fares are open to bargaining and anything between Rs 250-300 is fair enough for a reserved auto. Make sure that the auto driver drops you inside the campus and not at the gate of the campus if you have reserved one.
Please keep in mind that nobody gets NUSRL or NLU Ranchi here. The layman term is "Law College" in Kanke near Birsa Agricultural University or BAU.

Things to be brought with you:
1. Bedding including mattresses (6*3 ft), pillows, covers. Although the windows are attached with a protective net, you may bring a mosquito net with you. As Ranchi gets a bit chilly during the rainy season, a light quilt is recommended.
2. Bathroom essentials including buckets and mugs
3. A lock for your room
4. Plates, bowls, water bottles and other cutlery if deemed necessary
5. Cloth hangers, clothesline rope, clips
6. Dustbin (you can skip this as there are multiple common dustbins on each floor)
7. The formal dress which includes a black blazer, black trousers, white shirts, a black tie, and black socks and shoes. This is to be worn for CREs and formal programmes.
8. Appropriate casual clothes for class
9. A sturdy umbrella
It is advised that you travel light. All these items, along with anything else you might need is available at the Big Bazaar situated at some distance from the campus and we’d suggest you get it from there itself.

Hostels:
The hostels each have a gym with most equipment. They also have a TV each with dish connection. The rooms for the first years have two tables, beds, chairs, and cupboards, and two plug points. They also have one LAN port for a faster connection, as well as wi-fi connectivity all over the hostel. There are six bathrooms with modern fittings, and six toilet cubicles on each floor, which are cleaned on alternate days. RO water purifiers are there on every floor. Washerman services are available at a reasonable cost. Leading Hindi and English newspapers are available in the hostel itself. There’s a study room and a sick room as well. A doctor comes on alternate days.
Sports facilities in the campus include two each of tennis and basketball courts, a football ground, a cricket pitch along with practice nets, two badminton courts in each hostel, a volleyball court, and a futsal ground. We also have an intra-sports fest in each semester with huge participation.
The college bus plies to the main city Monday to Saturday in the evening. One can also avail autos from the main gate of the campus. All major courier services deliver to the campus.

Food:
The university has a well-functioning mess managed by a student-run committee. The serving timings for breakfast are 8 am-9.30 am and 8.30 am-10.30 am for Sundays, for lunch are 1 pm-3.15 pm, tea is served from 5 pm-6.30 pm, and for dinner are 8 pm-10 pm.
The menu is periodically reviewed with suggestions from the students. You can DM us for the recent menu. Food fests are also hosted on a monthly basis with a special menu for the day. Apart from this, there is a canteen and a Nescafe outlet with all sorts of snacks available at decent prices. Further, Zomato and Swiggy deliver to the campus from the nearby outlets.

For any other details, you can always reach out to us through the page.

Hello, future NUSRL-ites! We hope that the admission process goes through smoothly for you. We would like to remind you to go through the Consortium's website as it is the only reliable source of information. You may also check the University website regularly.
Do remember that Know NUSRL is a student-run page. We try our best to guide the prospective students of the University, but kindly refrain from asking us to get you admitted. :3
It solely depends on your relative rank and the merit list released, and is neither in our hands nor in the University administration's.
Further, the page and its admins furnish information to the best of their knowledge but are not the primary source for the same. Hence, the page would not be held liable if anything goes wrong. We are once again attaching the counselling instructions for your ease. All the best!
