The Indian Institute of Management Ranchi (Hindi: भारतीय प्रबंध संस्थान, राँची), abbreviated IIM Ranchi or IIM-R, is a college of management located in Ranchi, Jharkhand. IIMR has already become the fastest growing IIM in the country. IIM Ranchi has been set up to serve the increasing demand for quality managers in the corporate world, whilst striving for excellence and working towards its core va

lue of inclusive growth. The vision of IIM-R is holistic development of individuals and society, and attainment of thought leadership through erudite fusion of ‘western processes and technologies’ for knowledge creation, dissemination and application and `the wisdom of the east’ for the holistic development of students, businesses and the society at large. We offer two year full-time PGDM, 18 months part-time PGEXP and research based FPM programme. It is the first IIM in the country to initiate PGDHRM programme dedicated to the HR field. The course outline for all the programmes has been meticulously designed, and is being delivered by world-class faculty. We have set up a Centre for Policy Research and e-Governance to offer a number of training programmes for bureaucrats and government officials on public policy and e-governance. Center for Neuro Management in collaboration with CIP (Central Institute of Psychiatry) and Rinpas (Ranchi Institute of Neuro-Psychiatry and Allied Sciences), has been set up to engage in high quality research in the field of Neuro Management combining neurology, neuro psychology and business management. IIM-R has also tied up with IBM to set up a state-of-the-art Business Analytics Lab to pursue collaborative research with industry in the field of analytics.

The International Relations Office (IRO) and Research & Publication Ethics Office at IIM Ranchi recently hosted Prof. Atanu Chaudhuri, PhD, FCILT, Professor - Technology & Operations Management and Co-Director, Durham University Space Research Centre (SPARC), for the International Research Seminar. He explored the fascinating world of satellite operations through his talk, “Crowded Orbits, Fragile Futures: A Phenomenon-Based Study of Satellite Operations around Earth.”

The IRO also welcomed Prof. Deepak Bajaj, Professor, Academic & Campus Director, Deakin University GIFT City Campus, India, for an engaging interaction with students. IIM Ranchi successfully conducted the Strategic School Leadership Program, bringing together school leaders for an immersive three-day journey focused on leading with greater clarity, purpose and impact.

From shaping a compelling vision and building strong organisational cultures to navigating influence, financial stewardship and data-driven decision-making, the programme explored the many dimensions of effective school leadership. Participants also engaged with emerging possibilities of Generative AI in education, while reflecting on emotional intelligence, well-being, adaptability and the human side of leadership.

The learning journey further delved into creative problem-solving, building high-performance teams, succession planning and collaborative governance, culminating in conversations around quality assurance and institutional excellence. With insightful sessions, meaningful interactions and a fireside conversation, the programme encouraged leaders to look beyond managing institutions towards shaping the schools of tomorrow.

IIM Ranchi celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi, highlighted India’s tremendous opportunities and its vision of becoming a developed nation and a multi-trillion-dollar economy by 2047. He emphasised the role of educational institutions in building human capabilities to navigate uncertainty, solve complex challenges and use technology meaningfully for social impact.

The celebrations also featured patriotic songs and cultural performances by students, along with a series of activities promoting patriotism, national unity and social responsibility.
