First Blackboard

It is an attempt to ensure that each and every kid across India not just gets enrolled in school but also has a mentor to monitor their progress.

• This shall be ensured by four simple steps:

1. SPOT A KID: Identify a kid around your house/office who ideally should have been going to school but doesn’t.

2. FIND THE NEAREST GOVERNMENT SCHOOL: As there are government schools all across the countr

y, it would not be tough to find one. Also, a government school can admit kids all round the year without charging any money or demanding any documents.

3. ENROLL THE KID IN THE GOVERNMENT SCHOOL: The next step is to take the kid to the nearest government school and enroll him/her. The person needs to note down the Name, address, contact details of the student along with the school’s name, the contact person in the school, the kid’s enrollment number etc.

4. LOG ON TO www.FirstBlackboard.org: Once the details are ready, the person is supposed to log onto www.firstblackboard.org and enter the relevant details on the registration page.

• With this we are trying to ensure 3 things:

i. Have a consolidated list of all the kids being enrolled in different parts of India. When volunteers start going to government schools to monitor the progress of the kid they are mentoring, we can keep a check on the teachers who either don’t turn up in schools or don’t perform their duty as they should have been. If the volunteer find a school where the teachers don’t teach or classes are not held properly, they can log on to firstblackboard.org and under BRING TO LIGHT section can make a small note to us with the complain. We shall further forward the complain to our campus ambassadors of different cities/colleges across India. They shall take it up from there and forward it to the concerned department.
