When was the last time you said "Thank You!" or "Dhanyawad" to the Rickshawala or your Domestic Help?

Have you noticed the reaction on their face, when you said that?

Twice every week from September 2018 to May 2018, I said "Thank You Dada" to the old man who ironed my cloths when I was in Kolkata. I loved that happy face of "Iron Dada".

When I saw posts from females on about suggestive and derogatory messages from males on the network, sometimes I thought these are hyped up and exaggerated.

I discussed this with one of my "female" friends. I asked her that does she also receive messages bad in taste and making her feel like 'is LinkedIn a dating site'?

Instead of replying she gave me access to her LinkedIn account and liberty to read the messages.

After going through some of the messages, I'm feeling ashamed. Not only young and immature but also so called "seasoned" professionals have shown their true purpose of being on the .

Probably these people fear that by being on dating sites their wives or sons or daughters might catch them, so play safe and use LinkedIn.

In my career spanning 27+ years, I have changed jobs 6-7 times.
Every time I resigned, I got a mixed bag of reactions from my employers, team and colleagues, vendors and other stakeholders.

The experiences were both good and memorable as well as bad and worth forgetting. And I have learned a lot from people reactions as well as behavior during notice period.

Do you have any experience worth sharing? Has such experience changed you?
Please comment.

Today, received a call from a Recruiter for a senior position in a renowned B-School.
She was sounding very amateur and inexperienced. She asked me few question very hesitantly. After 3-4 questions asked in hurry with lack of confidence she hung up the call.
After 2-3 minutes she called again and asked few questions which probably her supervisor had told her to ask, without understanding the relevance of the question.
Out of curiosity, I inquired with her - if she is a fresher and new to recruitment? She said yes, she just completed her MBA in April 2019 and it is her first job. She had done her MBA in HR from a good university in Uttarakhand.
I gave her a few tips on interviewing senior people. She thanked me and disconnected the call.

The purpose of this post is to check with the community - How good is it to put a fresher into senior level prospecting and initial discussion? It can have both pros and cons ? It can destroy their confidence further?

The best thing here in Kolkata (in comparison to Ranchi) is that you get kathal or jackfruit cut and peeled off and cut into pieces in front of you. Where as in Ranchi one has to buy a whole jackfruit. This limits us from enjoying this great vegetable very often.
Enjoyed cooking season's first time kathal ki sabji. My other special favorite are kathal kabab n biryani.
