आज ही के दिन दो सदी पहले 30 मई 1826 को भारत का पहला हिंदी समाचार पत्र “उदन्त मार्तण्ड” प्रकाशित हुआ था। इसे पंडित जुगल किशोर शुक्ल ने कोलकाता से शुरू किया था। यह एक साप्ताहिक पत्र था। समस्त पत्रकार बंधुओं को हिंदी पत्रकारिता दिवस की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं।

The Final Viva Voce for the Research Project!
The research is where most indian educational institutions lack. Usually, students take it lightly and take shortcuts to finish their projects. But at the Department of Mass Communication, the Research Projects are meant to be serious and genuine academic activities to impact society. The final vova-voce was conducted by Prof. Bhagwan Singh, Former Dean and Head, Department of Management Sciences, Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi. Best wishes to all the researchers!

नागपुरी फिल्म निर्माण टीम के साथ संवाद

जनसंचार विभाग में फिल्म ‘बीर - आइज कर बिरसा’ की निर्माण टीम के साथ एक संवाद सत्र का आयोजन किया गया। टीम में ‘बीर’ के लेखक, निर्माता और निर्देशक डॉ. विजय प्रकाश, चांदनी बराइक, अनिल सिकदार, राजीव सिन्हा, राकेश चंद्र गुप्ता और अधीर राज उपस्थित रहे। इस अवसर पर विभागाध्यक्ष प्रो. देवव्रत सिंह ने फिल्म टीम का स्वागत किया। डॉ. विजय प्रकाश ने बताया कि यह फिल्म 24 अप्रैल को जेडी सिनेमा, मेन रोड, रांची में रिलीज हो रही है।

अभिनेत्री चांदनी बराइक ने अपने अभिनय के अनुभव विद्यार्थियों के साथ साझा किए। वहीं वरिष्ठ रंगकर्मी अनिल सिकदार ने क्षेत्रीय फिल्म निर्माण में अवसरों और चुनौतियों पर अपने विचार रखे। वरिष्ठ रंगकर्मी राजीव सिन्हा ने रंगमंच और सिनेमा की अपनी यात्रा के बारे में बताया तथा फिल्म ‘बीर आइज कर बिरसा’ में निभाई गई अपनी एसपी की भूमिका पर भी चर्चा की। अधीर राज और राकेश चंद्र गुप्ता ने भी फिल्म निर्माण के अपने अनुभव विद्यार्थियों के साथ साझा किए। इस दौरान विद्यार्थियों ने फिल्म टीम से कई प्रश्न पूछे। कार्यक्रम के अंत में डॉ. अमरेंद्र कुमार ने धन्यवाद ज्ञापन दिया। इस अवसर पर डॉ. सुदर्शन यादव, डॉ. अमृत कुमार और डॉ. रश्मि वर्मा भी उपस्थित थे। प्रदर्शन कला विभाग से डॉ. वेंकटेश बुरला और डॉ. शाकिर तस्नीम की भी गरिमामयी उपस्थिति रही।

Achievement!
Ms Archana Kumari, a student of the fourth semester of the mass communication course, won the first prize of Best Speaker in the declamation contest held yesterday. The program was organised by the Women's Empowerment Cell of the university on the topic 'Implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, 2023'. Prof. Dev Vrat Singh, Dean & Head, congratulated her on this achievement. She was mentored by Dr Rashmi Verma, Assistant Professor, DMC.

Makeup for Television Production!
A workshop on the art of makeup for television production was conducted by the expert Ms Swaroopa in the multimedia studio of the Department of Mass Communication on 7th April 2026. The resource person, having a decade-long experience, explained the importance of makeup in production and demonstrated the step-wise process of doing makeup on students. On this occasion, Prof. Dev Vrat Singh, Head, DMC, underscored that makeup is an essential element of television production. He further emphasised that makeup not only beautifies the subject but also corrects the character according to the needs of the production. Mr Ajaenga Pamei, Senior Technical Assistant and Mr Ramniwas Suthar, Technical Assistant, coordinated this workshop. Ms Ananya Jha, PhD Scholar, felicitated the expert.

Final PhD Viva Voce!
Ms Nity Pandey successfully defended her doctoral work during the Open Viva Voce in the Department of Mass Communication held on 30th March 2026. She worked on the mental well-being of university students and the role of communication under the supervision of Dr Sudarshan Yadav, Associate Professor. Prof. Anand Pradhan, Regional Director, Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Dhenkanal, Odisha, joined the occasion online as an external examiner. Ms Nity is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Rama Devi Women's University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Final PhD Viva Voce!
Mr Rajat Raj successfully defended his doctoral work during the Open Viva Voce in the Department of Mass Communication held on 30th March 2026. He worked on the visual representation of tribal images in newspapers published from Ranchi city under the supervision of Dr Amrit Kumar, Assistant Professor. Prof. Bachha Babu, Indraprasth University, Delhi, joined online as an external examiner on this occasion.

बधाई एवं शुभकामनाएं
भोपाल की डॉ. विशाखा राजुरकर राज ने दैनिक भास्कर की कविता प्रतियोगिता में शीर्ष पांच विजेताओं में स्थान प्राप्त किया है। देशभर से इस कविता उत्सव में कुल 17143 प्रविष्टियां आयीं थी जिनमें से साहित्य अकादमी से सम्मानित कवि - गगन गिल, नंदकिशोर आचार्य और राजेश जोशी ने संयुक्त रूप से विजेताओं का चयन किया। डॉ. विशाखा ने जनसंचार विभाग से थियेटर संचार में डॉक्टरेट की उपाधि अर्जित की है और पिछले लंबे अर्से से साहित्य, रंगमंच, रेडियो, मंच संचालन एवं मीडिया अध्ययन - अध्यापन में निरंतर सक्रिय हैं। विभाग की तरफ से डॉ. विशाखा को बधाईयां एवं शुभकामनाएं।

The team of the Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication visited the studios too and appreciated the production infrastructure in the Department.
