The school began in 1964 as Jawahar Vidya Mandir[citation needed]. The principal was Ms Parmar[citation needed]. Mrs Krishnaswamy was the Vice Principal. Mr.
The school started with only one building, where the present Primary School is located[citation needed]. During this period the school had Nursery, KG I and KG II classes before Class I. In 1971 the Primary School building was extended for more classes/sections.[citation needed] In 1973, the class KG II was removed, the children were given two options; one either to get double promoted to class I
