Fertiliser Subsidy: Keeping Inputs Affordable for Farmers ЁЯМ╛
Fertiliser remains a critical input for Indian agriculture, and the Government continues to protect farmers from rising international fertiliser prices through substantial subsidies.
A 45-kg bag of urea is available to farmers at just тВ╣266, despite its market price being around тВ╣3,000 per bag. Similarly, a 50-kg bag of DAP costs farmers тВ╣1,350, against a market price of approximately тВ╣5,000 per bag.
During 2025, covering both Kharif and Rabi seasons, the Government bore a total subsidy of тВ╣2,17,174 crore on Urea, DAP, MoP, NPK and SSP, ensuring the availability of essential fertilisers at affordable prices.
This is the GovernmentтАЩs commitment to reducing farmersтАЩ input burden, strengthening agricultural productivity and ensuring food security.
