Sarala Birla Public School resonated with the vibrant rhythms of patriotism and the rich melodies of India’s cultural heritage during the Inter-House Dance and Song Competition. The event provided a dynamic platform for students to showcase their musical talent, creativity, confidence and spirit of teamwork.
The Song Competition, themed ‘Sandarbh’ brought forth soulful and spirited performances that beautifully reflected the essence of national pride and India’s diverse folk traditions. Through powerful voices and harmonious renditions, students celebrated the cultural richness and unity of the nation.
Adding colour and energy to the event was the Inter-House Dance Competition on the theme ‘Patriotic Fusion’. The participating teams captivated the audience with innovative choreography, synchronised movements and expressive performances that seamlessly blended various dance forms with the spirit of patriotism.
Students from all four houses - Rigved, Atharvaved, Yajurved and Samved- participated with great enthusiasm, making the competition a memorable celebration of talent, culture and national pride. The performances were appreciated for their originality, coordination, presentation and artistic expression.
Expressing her appreciation for the young performers, Principal Ms. Manisha Sharma said, ‘Such platforms play a vital role in nurturing creativity, confidence and teamwork among students. Music and dance are powerful mediums through which our children can connect with their cultural roots while developing a deep sense of pride and responsibility towards the nation.’
The event concluded amid loud applause and appreciation, leaving everyone inspired by the remarkable talent and infectious enthusiasm of the students. The competition truly reflected the spirit of SBPS - where talent finds expression, culture finds celebration and patriotism finds a powerful voice.

Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi, added another feather to its cap as Pratyaksh Pareek of Standard VI delivered an outstanding performance at ‘Pixel Spandan 2026’, the two-day photography celebration organised by Sarala Birla University, Ranchi, on the occasion of World Photography Day. Adding to the pride of SBPS, 15 enthusiastic students from the school’s Photography Club participated in this prestigious event, gaining valuable exposure and an enriching opportunity to interact with accomplished photographers and fellow photography enthusiasts.
A key highlight of the event was the inspiring address by Hon’ble Rajya Sabha Member Dr. Pradip Kumar Varma, who described photography as an “extraordinary confluence of art, science and philosophy.” Drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi and Bhagwan Birsa Munda, he emphasised that photography and painting possess the remarkable power to communicate ideas, emotions and human experiences beyond the limitations of words.
Centred on the themes ‘Nature’, ‘Tribal Culture’ and ‘Apni Ranchi’, the event promoted creativity, observation and visual storytelling through photography.
Principal Ms. Manisha Sharma congratulated Pratyaksh Pareek on his outstanding achievement and appreciated his creativity and keen sense of observation. She also applauded the participation of all the students and highlighted the significance of World Photography Day as a celebration of the power of images to preserve memories, communicate ideas, document reality and inspire people to view the world with greater sensitivity and imagination.

Sarala Birla Public School, Mahilong, Ranchi, in collaboration with CBSE, hosted a Regional Workshop on ‘Computational Thinking & Understanding AI’ on 22 August 2026, bringing together more than 300 participants, including educational leaders, academicians, experts and educators, to explore the meaningful integration of Computational Thinking (CT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into teaching-learning practices. Organised in consonance with CBSE’s annual training theme for 2026–27, the workshop focused on strengthening CT and AI pedagogy, interdisciplinary integration, logical thinking, systematic problem-solving and the ethical and responsible use of AI, with the larger objective of creating future-ready learning environments.
The distinguished gathering included Ms. Anjali Chhabra, Additional Director, CBSE Headquarters, New Delhi, as the Chief Guest; Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Section Officer, CBSE, Centre of Excellence, Patna, Dr. Manish Kumar Pandey, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Quantitative Economics & Data Science (CQEDS) as the Keynote Speaker; Mr. Arun John Masih, Principal and Ms. Pragya Singh, Principal as Subject Experts. The programme commenced with the felicitation of the revered guests, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and ‘A Symphony of Welcome’. Ms. Manisha Sharma, Principal, Sarala Birla Public School, addressed the gathering thereafter.
Ms. Anjali Chhabra, Additional Director, CBSE, addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of strengthening educators’ preparedness to integrate Computational Thinking and Artificial Intelligence meaningfully and responsibly into classroom practices.
In his keynote address, Dr. Manish Kumar Pandey highlighted the growing importance of quantitative thinking, data analysis and critical enquiry in an AI-driven world. Mr. Arun John Masih led the session “Pedagogical Foundations: From Play to Assessment”, followed by class simulations and a pedagogical-model gallery visit. Ms. Pragya Singh conducted the session ‘Applied CT & AI: Interdisciplinary Integration and Ethics’, exploring the application of Computational Thinking and AI across disciplines while underscoring the need for ethical and responsible technology use.
A panel discussion on ‘Implementing CT and AI: Challenges, Success and the Way Forward’ featured Ms. Manisha Sharma, Principal, Sarala Birla Public School; Dr. (Capt.) Sumit Kaur, Principal, Guru Nanak Higher Secondary School, Mr. Prabhanjan Kumar, PGT and Mr. Radha Mohan Dey, TGT. The panellists deliberated on classroom implementation, institutional leadership, technology integration, teacher preparedness and the importance of preserving the human essence of education while embracing emerging technologies.
The workshop culminated with ‘Pause • Reflect • Reimagine’, encouraging educators to translate their learning into classroom practices rooted in innovation, inclusion, ethics and human values. Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Section Officer, CBSE, Centre of Excellence, Patna, proposed the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, resource persons, organisers and participating educators for contributing to the meaningful exchange of ideas and practices.
Principal, Ms. Manisha Sharma, thanked CBSE for the opportunity to host the workshop and for its continued support in empowering educators. She emphasised that technology should strengthen human intelligence rather than replace it and observed that educators must use AI judiciously while keeping human values at the core of education. The workshop reaffirmed the shared commitment towards using technology responsibly in education.

Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi, organised Kalanjali, an interdisciplinary academic exhibition that provided students with a vibrant platform to transform classroom learning into creative, practical and meaningful presentations.

The objective of the initiative was to strengthen conceptual understanding through experiential learning while nurturing critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, research and problem-solving skills.
The exhibition featured projects and models from Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Geography, History, Environmental Studies and languages. In Science, students presented models on the parts of a cell. Geography was represented through an illustrative model on the stages of a river.
A prominent highlight was the theme ‘Act Local, Think Global – Sustainable Living in India: Learning for a Greener Tomorrow.’ Through models on waste segregation, water conservation, community cleanliness, eco-friendly housing, renewable energy and sustainable transport, students demonstrated how responsible local actions could contribute to a greener and more sustainable future. The exhibits reflected the students’ ability to research, interpret, design and explain academic concepts with clarity and confidence. Kalanjali was aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises experiential, multidisciplinary, competency-based and holistic learning. By encouraging students to learn by doing, connect subjects with real-life situations, work collaboratively and present their understanding creatively, the exhibition moved beyond rote learning and promoted the development of 21st-century skills. Its emphasis on sustainability, cultural awareness, scientific temper and practical application further reflected the broader educational vision of NEP 2020.
The Principal, Ms. Manisha Sharma, appreciated the enthusiasm, originality and effort displayed by the students and teachers. She stated that such initiatives deepened conceptual understanding while encouraging learners to become curious, confident, creative and responsible individuals capable of applying knowledge meaningfully beyond the classroom.

Students of Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi, delivered an impressive performance at the Inter School MAD AD (Marketing Skills) Competition, organised by The International Library & Cultural Centre (ILCC), Ranchi, securing the 1st runner up Prize. Lavanya Kumari and Pratyusha Preshti Lakra of Std. XI represented the school and brought laurels through their creativity, confidence and persuasive presentation skills.
The competition tested the participants’ spontaneity and innovative thinking, as the product to be marketed was revealed only 20 minutes before the event. The students were required to conceptualise and present an advertisement using original ideas, catchy slogans or jingles, visual aids and enactment, while demonstrating effective communication and stage presence.
The commendable achievement reflected the students’ ability to combine imagination, quick thinking and marketing acumen in a competitive inter-school environment.
Principal Ms. Manisha Sharma congratulated the achievers and appreciated their creativity, confidence and presence of mind. She encouraged the students to continue participating on such platforms that nurture communication, innovation, teamwork and real-world problem-solving skills.
