A Few Steps Away from the Finish Line

Alhamdulillah.

Do not slip back to where you were before Ramadan.

Allah grants us special seasons in which we can rise and draw closer to Him. It has been reported from the Prophet ﷺ:
إنَّ للهِ في أيَّامِ دهركم نفحاتٍ فتعرضوا لها
“Indeed, Allah has moments of special mercy in the days of your lives, so expose yourselves to them.”

And he ﷺ also said:
أحبُّ الأعمالِ إلى اللهِ أدومُها وإن قلَّ
“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are consistent, even if they are small.”

If we return to our old selves immediately after Ramadan, then what did Ramadan truly change within us?

Do not see these blessed seasons as temporary spikes on a flat line, but rather as steps on an upward journey.

Yes, in Shawwal you may do less than you did in Ramadan and that is natural. But your heart should be in a better state than it was in Shaʿban.
