Trade resolutions for real connection. Spend six days in the forest learning from conservationists, naturalists, and explorers—birding at dawn, tracking mammals, studying rivers, and rediscovering what it means to belong to nature. Modules span Ornithology, Mammalogy, River Ecology, Conservation Policy, and Nature Writing—each designed to build a deeper understanding of ecosystems and the human dimensions that shape them.

Winter Wilderness Course 2026 at the at Corbett Tiger Reserve, Uttarakhand. This is our 11th Batch with a range of new modules. We are also trying out our DSLR Camera Trapping Module this time and capacity building through Remote Sensing and Citizen Science tools. The coordinators are a mix of Conservation Scholars and Officials from the Forest Department. Exciting stuff ahead.

Which was the last protected area you visited?

We went on a safari in in early April. In the sweltering heat, we saw over a dozen vultures, including the critically endangered white-rumped vulture, and heard a tiger roaring for several long minutes!

It's a goldmine of information! For example, this particular s**t tells us about the animal moving in the area, roughly how old the 💩 is, and what it probably ate!

As part of the Sanctuary Asia April 2024 cover story, Sutirtha wrote about the Tesia Camp, tucked away near the Bogoli Reserve Forest in Assam, and catching glimpses of several shy Tesia species there!

Sutirtha also conducted a wonderful session on Nature Journaling in the March 2024 Wilderness Training Program!
