A one-day awareness workshop was organized on 10th February 2026 by the District Industries Centre (DIC) Ramban in collaboration with MSME-DFO Jammu and Government Polytechnic College Ramban to promote Udyam Registration under RAMP, PMEGP, PM Vishwakarma, and other schemes of the Industries & Commerce Department.
Sh. Swaroop Kotwal, Functional Manager, DIC Ramban, highlighted various initiatives aimed at encouraging youth to become job creators rather than job seekers. The programme witnessed active participation from AD MSME, Director SBI RSETI Ramban, Nodal Officer JKEDI, AD Handicrafts/Handlooms, and officers from the various departments.In their addresses, the speakers encouraged students to upgrade their technical skills, adopt modern technologies, and develop a proactive mind-set to contribute meaningfully to economic growth and self-reliance.
Principal Government Polytechnic Ramban, Er. Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat, emphasized the need to equip youth with industry-relevant skills to become successful entrepreneurs. He stressed the importance of practical exposure, skill-based training, and awareness of government schemes to help students transform their ideas into viable and sustainable enterprises.

Government Polytechnic Ramban observed the International Day for Girl Child today, organizing a seminar in collaboration with District Social Welfare Ramban. The event aimed to empower female students with knowledge on safety, health wellness, and gender equality. The aim of the event was to:
- Raising awareness about girl child safety and health wellness
- Promoting gender equality and reservation
- Encouraging active participation and empowerment of female students
Government Polytechnic Ramban remains dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, ensuring equal opportunities for all students. The seminar commenced with Er. Aabid Hussain, Demonstrator Electrical Engineering, emphasizing the significance of the day. Er. Pawan Kumar, Head of the Department of E&C Engineering, highlighted the importance of gender equality and reservation for girl children, extending warm wishes to the female students. Students from various branches and semesters actively participated, shedding light on the theme "International Day for Girl Child." The engaging discussions fostered a positive and supportive environment. Ms. Satiya Devi, Guest Faculty, expressed gratitude to Er. Pawan Kumar (HOD), Er. Aabid Hussain (Demonstrator), and Er. Vivek Mahajan (Principal) for their guidance and support.

Entrepreneur Awareness Seminar Held at Government Polytechnic Ramban
Ramban, October 10, 2024, A seminar on Entrepreneur Awareness was organized today at Government Polytechnic Ramban in collaboration with Entrepreneur Development Institute (EDI) Ramban. The event aimed to inspire and educate students about the benefits of self-employment and government initiatives for entrepreneurship. The aim of the seminar was to
- Inspire students to consider entrepreneurship as a viable career option.
- Create awareness about government initiatives for entrepreneurs.
- Foster a culture of innovation and self-employment.
Government Polytechnic Ramban and EDI Ramban reaffirm their commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial spirit among youth, driving economic growth, and empowering future generations.
Mr. Tasneef Rasool Parray, District Nodal Officer, EDI Ramban, and Mr. Izhaar Ahmad Reshi, Administrative Officer, EDI Ramban, graced the occasion. Welcoming the final-year students from Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mr. Azeem emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in today's economy.
Mr. Tasneef Rasool Parray delivered a comprehensive presentation, highlighting the need for self-employment and various government initiatives. He urged students to leverage these initiatives to create sustainable enterprises, fostering economic growth and employment opportunities.

School Students Experience Engineering Firsthand at Govt. Polytechnic, Chanderkote.
Govt. Polytechnic, Chanderkote proudly hosted enthusiastic class 9th and 10th students from Govt. High School , Ind, Zone Gool on 01-10-2024 for an insightful and interactive technical visit. The visit aimed to inspire the next generation of engineering technocrats by providing a feel of 21st century technology cutting edge technology gadgets.
The students were given a tour of various departments, including Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication and Civil Engineering, where they had the opportunity to interact with faculty members and students. Demonstrations of state-of-the-art technology labs, and Engineering work shops , were part of the immersive experience to ignite the curiosity of young minds.
The Demonstrator Electrical Engineering, Sh. Aabid Hussain on behalf of Principal of Institution, apprised the students and staff about the courses and other infrastructural facilities available in the institution also gave detailed information about the various scholarship schemes of Govt. Polytechnic Ramban along with the eligibility norms for availing the scholarships. He also highlighted the importance of engineering and technology in today’s world. He emphasized that the visits like these can plant the seeds for future innovation and inspire youth to empower them with market-relevant skills, improving productivity, and creating a skilled workforce to drive country’s economic growth
