Today’s graduation ceremony marks the first cohort of the Geshe English Language Program under the BA Department—a moment of pride for the department. The Geshes in the program completed 3-year of course successfully.
The institute and the department congratulated all the graduating Geshes and Ani la today.

The Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education, Bangalore, commemorated the 36th anniversary of the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama with a dignified program honoring His Holiness’s enduring message of peace and compassion.
The event began with reflections on the global significance of the 1989 Nobel Prize, highlighting His Holiness’s advocacy for human values, interfaith harmony, and non-violent dialogue, followed by the reading of Kashag and Chethu messages.
Principal Dr. Tenzin Pasang presented the Department of Education, CTA’s 25-Year Service Award to Mr. Tenzin Namgyal, comprising a Thoemi Thangka and Certificate, in recognition of his dedicated service to Tibetan education.
The ceremony concluded with heartfelt gratitude and a renewed commitment to uphold His Holiness’s values.

Breast cancer awareness session and screening
A breast-health awareness and screening program was held at DLIHE on 1st December 2025 in collaboration with the NSS Unit and the Wellness Centre. The session was led by Dr. Carolyn LaFleur, an experienced anaesthesiologist and first-stage breast cancer survivor, along with Mrs. Penpa Negi, a social worker and Certified Nursing Assistant from California.
A total of 93 participants received breast-health awareness, consultation, and personal interaction with the health team. Based on initial assessments, 21 participants underwent further scanning. The team’s expertise and dedication greatly contributed to the program’s success and positive impact.

DLIHE Participates as Partner Institution in International Conference on “Language, Culture & World Peace”
The Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education (DLIHE), Bengaluru, was honored to serve as a partner institution for the International Conference on “Language, Culture & World Peace: Dialogues for a Peaceful World”, held on 27 November 2025 at Dr. Manmohan Singh Bengaluru City University. Organized by the Centre for Global Languages, the conference brought together scholars, educators, and cultural leaders to examine the role of language and culture in fostering global harmony.
The inaugural ceremony welcomed Acharya Jigme Tsultrium, Chief Representative Officer, South Zone, Central Tibetan Administration, as the Chief Guest. He was received by Prof. Jyothi Venkatesh, Director of the Centre for Global Languages & Dean, Faculty of Arts.
The event was presided over by Prof. Ramesh B, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of DMSBCU. Distinguished speakers included Prof. Fady Fadel, Dean and Chief Academic Officer of ESAIP Group La Salle, France, who delivered the inaugural address, and Prof. Rajendra Chenni, noted author and professor at Kuvempu University, who presented the keynote address.
The Guests of Honour were Mr. Jean-Marc Depierre, Director of Alliance Française de Bengaluru, and Dr. Michael Heinst, Director of Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan Bengaluru. Dr. Tenzin Pasang, Principal of the Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education, also attended the event as an invited guest, representing the Institute at the inaugural ceremony.
In his address, Acharya Jigme Tsultrium highlighted the strength and resilience of the Tibetan struggle and emphasized the deep-rooted significance of the Tibetan language—grounded in India’s ancient philosophical traditions—in preserving Tibetan identity and culture. He further noted that language preservation plays a vital role in sustaining global peace. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ramesh echoed these sentiments by quoting His Holiness the Dalai Lama on the importance of religious harmony and tolerance.
The two-day conference served as an important forum for academic dialogue, with research presentations in English, French, Kannada, German, Spanish, and Tibetan.
As part of DLIHE’s contribution, six Tibetan-language presentations were featured. Five research scholars from the Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education, along with Dr. Rigzin Lhundup, presented their research papers on themes related to Tibetan language, literature, and cultural studies.
The Tibetan session at the conference was chaired by Dr. Geshe Lobsang Ngodup, Head of the Tibetan Department at DLIHE, underscoring the Institute’s ongoing commitment to advancing scholarship in Tibetan studies.

The students and staff of DLIHE came together today to proudly celebrate National Constitution Day, honouring the ideals, values, and vision enshrined in the Constitution of India. The program included a collective reading of the Preamble and presentation from students and on the significance of constitutional values.

A productive day at NSS Bhavan, Bangalore University, where NSS Program Officers gathered to discuss NSS curriculum and activity implementation across campuses.
The session was inaugurated by Dr. Ramesh H. Kittur, followed by the felicitation of our chief Speaker and a tribute to Late Saalumarada Thimmakka, an icon of environmental service.
Proud moment for DLIHE as we showcased our commitment to NSS values under the guidance of our NSS Programme Officer, Asst. Prof. Ngawang Tendar.
The event concluded with high NSS spirit and group activities celebrating the spirit of service.
