The Department of Communication Design with AI, Chitkara Design School, presents a course display showcasing students’ explorations across four department electives on 25-sep-2026. Dice, Drama & Design explored board game mechanics through gameplay and an introduction to board games in digital spaces. Blender’s Bender introduced foundational skills in Blender for 3D creation. Ear Candy explored storytelling through sound design alone, while Vibe Check introduced vibe coding alongside an initial exploration of Arduino boards. The display brings together students’ processes, experiments and outcomes, reflecting diverse approaches to play, digital making and storytelling.

Chitkara College of Hospitality Management (CCHM) organized a one-day culinary workshop titled “Mastering the Art of Dim Sum: Embracing Sustainable Culinary Practices” at the International Cuisine Kitchen, Escoffier Block, CCHM. The workshop was conducted from 09:30 AM to 04:15 PM and was led by Chef Hemant Sharki, Chef de Cuisine – Asian Cuisine, Hyatt Centric, Chandigarh. The workshop aimed to provide students with industry-oriented practical exposure to authentic Dim Sum preparation and Asian culinary techniques. Chef Hemant Sharki conducted an engaging live demonstration, explaining the fundamentals of Dim Sum, appropriate ingredients, preparation techniques, cooking methods, and professional standards followed in hotel kitchens. A significant focus of the workshop was on sustainable culinary practices. Students were introduced to responsible ingredient utilization, minimizing food wastage, efficient kitchen practices, and the importance of sustainability in contemporary professional kitchens. The hands-on component enabled students to apply the techniques demonstrated by the chef and gain confidence in executing Dim Sum preparations. The workshop also provided an opportunity for students to interact directly with an industry expert, understand real-world kitchen operations, clarify their culinary queries, and gain insights into career opportunities within the hospitality industry.

The Yuva Tourism Club, Chitkara College of Hospitality Management, under the aegis of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), successfully organized an Experiential Learning Visit on "Innovation in Laundry Operations" from 27th to 31st July 2026 at the Hostel Laundry, Chitkara University. The session was conducted by Mr. R. K. Mehta, Laundry Manager, with students attending in practical groups from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to modern laundry operations and familiarize them with innovative technologies, equipment, and sustainable practices used in institutional laundry management. Mr. Mehta explained the complete laundry workflow, including linen collection, sorting, stain removal, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and storage. Students observed the functioning of industrial washing machines, dryers, flatwork ironers, and finishing equipment while understanding the importance of process standardization, quality control, and hygiene maintenance. Special emphasis was laid on resource optimization through water and energy conservation, eco-friendly detergents, chemical handling, and preventive maintenance of laundry equipment.

The Yuva Tourism Club, under the aegis of Chitkara College of Hospitality Management and the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), successfully organized a activity titled "Innovation Beyond the Skies: Insights from IndiGo" on 4th August 2026 at Faraday Hall, Edison Block. The session was conducted by Ms. Shivani Mehta, Vertical Head – Airport Operations and Customer Service, IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd.), who shared her extensive industry experience and provided valuable insights into the rapidly evolving aviation sector. The interactive session focused on the role of innovation in enhancing airport operations, passenger experience, and service excellence. Ms. Mehta highlighted how technology, operational efficiency, and customer-centric strategies have transformed the aviation industry, enabling airlines to deliver seamless travel experiences while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. She also discussed the importance of adaptability, leadership, effective communication, and problem-solving skills for aspiring professionals in hospitality and aviation. Students actively engaged throughout the session by participating in discussions and raising questions related to career opportunities, operational challenges, and the future of airport management.

The event was conducted from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and featured Chef Aditya Saksena as the resource person, with Chef Manpreet Singh serving as the Event Coordinator. The event aimed to provide students with an enriching platform to explore the diverse culinary traditions associated with Indian festivals while understanding how traditional recipes can be reimagined through creativity and contemporary culinary techniques. Chef Aditya Saksena shared valuable insights into the preparation, presentation, and innovation of festive Indian cuisine.
