On 9th of May, the campus of Jyotirmoy Public School, Sonarpur resonated with the timeless spirit of Rabindranath Tagore as students came together to celebrate Rabindra Jayanti popularly known as '২৫শে বৈশাখ' with immense enthusiasm, elegance, and cultural pride.

The programme commenced with a solemn floral tribute to the Bard, paying heartfelt homage to the visionary whose words continue to inspire generations beyond boundaries of time. The celebration was further enriched by the inspiring addresses delivered by our respected Principal Sir, Mr. Sushant Das, and Vice Principal Sir, Mr. Jaydip Mitra, who beautifully highlighted the relevance of Tagore’s ideals in shaping young minds and nurturing humanity.

The stage then transformed into a vibrant canvas of Bengali culture as students mesmerized the audience through soulful Rabindra Sangeet, powerful recitations, and graceful dance renditions. Every performance reflected emotion creativity, and deep reverence towards the literary legend, making the atmosphere truly magical and unforgettable.

From melody to movement, from poetry to expression — the celebration became a heartfelt tribute to the eternal legacy of Kaviguru, proving once again that his philosophy and art continue to live on through the voices and dreams of the younger generation.

On 08.05.2026, Jyotirmoy Public School, Sonarpur got humbled by the presence of Padma Shri Mr Karimul Haque, which turned out to be not merely an occasion — but it was an emotion, a lesson in humanity, and an awakening of conscience.

Fondly known as the “Bike Ambulance Dada”, his extraordinary journey from an ordinary villager to a Padma Shri award winner moved every heart present, reminding us that true greatness lies not in wealth or power, but in selfless service to mankind.

With immense humility and unwavering determination, Mr. Karimul Haque shared the inspiring story of how he has made a lifelong mission of riding through difficult terrains, remote villages, and inaccessible roads with nothing but compassion in his heart and a bike ambulance by his side, he became the lifeline for countless people deprived of timely medical care. His words carried the pain of the neglected, the hope of the helpless, and the courage of one man who chose humanity above all else.

What made the interaction deeply special was the remarkable alignment between his philosophy and the vision of Dr Partha Sarathi Ganguli Sir behind establishing Jyotirmoy Public School. Just as he strives tirelessly to ensure that medical facilities reach the remotest corners where people are unable to access healthcare, Jyotirmoy Public School continues its mission of bringing quality English medium education to children who otherwise would have remained deprived due to distance, financial constraints, and lack of opportunities.

From expressive sketches and imaginative paintings to thought-provoking creative compositions, every artwork reflected not just talent, but emotion, individuality and perspective.

World Art Day, celebrated every year on 15th April, marks the birth anniversary of the legendary artist Leonardo da Vinci — a symbol of creativity, innovation and limitless learning. The day is observed globally to honour the importance of art in human life, encourage artistic expression, and remind young minds that art is one of the most powerful mediums to communicate beyond words.

Keeping alive this spirit of creativity, our budding artists transformed blank sheets into stories, colours into emotions and ideas into inspiration.
