VC BGSBU inagurates Entrepreneurship Development programme In Collaboration with JKEDI
Rajouri, September 22, 2026: An Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Programme (ESDP) was inaugurated today at University Polytechnic, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Rajouri. The programme is being organised for 30 students of University Polytechnic with the objective of promoting entrepreneurship, skill development, innovation and self-employment among students.
The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, addressed the gathering and emphasised the significance of skill development, innovation and entrepreneurship in preparing students to take advantage of emerging opportunities. He encouraged the students to actively participate in the programme and develop an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset.
The Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. T**i Xavier, in her address, highlighted the importance of integrating technical education with entrepreneurship and practical skills. She appreciated the collaborative initiative of University Polytechnic and JKEDI and expressed hope that the programme would inspire students to transform their knowledge and ideas into meaningful entrepreneurial ventures.
The Registrar, BGSBU, Shri Ravi Kumar Sihag, IAS, conveyed his message and appreciated the initiative. He emphasised the role of entrepreneurship and skill-based education in promoting self-employment, employability and economic development.
The inaugural session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Shafqat Mughal, Principal, University Polytechnic, who welcomed the dignitaries, resource person, faculty members, staff and students. He highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and practical skill development in enhancing students’ employability and encouraging them to explore self-employment opportunities.
Shri Mehraj Ud Din Bhat, DNO, JKEDI, Rajouri, delivered an insightful address on entrepreneurship and apprised the students of various opportunities, guidance and support available to aspiring entrepreneurs. He encouraged the students to identify innovative ideas and explore entrepreneurship as a viable career option.
The inaugural session was attended by the Programme Coordinators, faculty members and non-teaching staff of University Polytechnic.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Er. Manik Groach, Programme Coordinator, DECE, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, JKEDI, faculty members, staff and students for their valuable participation and support.
