On 3 December 1971, the war between India and Pakistan started which lasted till 16 December 1971 and 93000 thousand Pakistani army bowed down in front of a Sikh general:
Gurdeep Singh Jagbir (Dr. )
In this war Lieutenant General Sardar Jagjit Singh Arora was commanding Indian ground forces and Pakistan ground forces were led by Lieutenant General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi. Under the command of Lieutenant General Sardar Jagjit Singh Arora and his rebels, Indian Army attacked Pakistani Army in all round and destroyed many battalions of Pakistan. Pakistani army on the other hand, here Bangla was busy in killing the countrymen. And the command of this side was in the hands of Major General Sardar Subeg Singh. Due to these Sikh generals, terror spread in Pakistan's army completely. Pakistani army did not expect India's direct attack of Sikh generals.
Pakistani army, busy in killing innocent Bengalis, could not compete with General Arora's strategy. On the other hand, Indian Air Force and Navy also destroyed Pakistani Air Force and Navy. Major General Sardar Subeg Singh prepared Bengali youth under the name of Mukti Vaini army and gave them complete military training.
Indian army captured Dhaka of Bangla in less than two weeks. Under the command of these Sikh generals, the Indian army spread fear in the Pakistani army with such bravery, great courage and restraint that both the courage and luck of the Pakistani army were broken. Finally, Pakistan's Eastern Army Chief Lieutenant General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi dropped the weapons in front of the bravery of Sikh generals. Thirteen thousand troops of General Niazi surrendered to General Arora. On 16 December 1971, General Niazi signed the document of surrender before General Arora. These signatures were made on the ground of Ramna Race Course in Dhaka. Later this Ramna race course ground has been renamed Independence Chowk.
