📝 The much-debated National Exit Test (NExT) — originally set to launch in August 2025 — has been postponed for 3 to 4 years, bringing huge relief to medical students across India.

🩺 During a recent meeting in New Delhi, NMC Chairman Dr. Abhijat Sheth informed delegates from FAIMA about the decision, emphasizing that before implementation, the Commission will conduct mock NExT exams (fully funded by NMC) to test the structure, logistics, and student response.

📊 Based on these mock runs and feedback, the NMC will refine the framework to ensure strong infrastructure, legal clarity, and academic readiness before the nationwide rollout.

💡 The exam is designed to serve as a single gateway for MBBS graduates — acting both as a licensing exam and a PG admission test, replacing NEET-PG and FMGE.
