Heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Zahid Ahmed Mangral on the successful defense of his thesis. His groundbreaking research sheds light on Rhododendron anthopogon, a vital alpine species and an essential climate change indicator in the Kashmir Himalayas. Through meticulous molecular characterization, chemical profiling, network Pharmacology and biological activity analysis, Mr. Mangral's work enhances our understanding of the species' response to environmental fluctuations. His findings, published in esteemed peer-reviewed journals, are a significant contribution to the field, particularly in the context of the pressing challenges posed by climate change and its effects on fragile alpine ecosystems.

This remarkable achievement was accomplished under the esteemed mentorship of Dr. Tanvir Ul Hassan Dar, Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University. Dr. Dar’s expert guidance enabled Mr. Mangral to employ advanced biotechnological tools to decode the genetic structure and adaptive strategies of Rhododendron anthopogon. This research not only emphasizes the plant's pivotal role in tracking climate dynamics but also underscores the urgent need to conserve Himalayan biodiversity.

Special gratitude goes to Dr. A. A. Shah, Dean of the School of Biosciences and Biotechnology, for fostering a supportive environment for high-caliber research within the Department of Biotechnology.
