GDC Doongi Organises One-Day Workshop on Lifestyle Awareness and Basic Life Support Training
Doongi, September 17, 2026: Government Degree College (GDC) Doongi, in association with Maximum Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., organised a one-day workshop on “Lifestyle Awareness & Basic Life Support (BLS) Training” at the college. The programme was conducted under the able guidance of the worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Chanchal Angral, with the objective of promoting health awareness and equipping students with essential knowledge and practical skills for responding to medical emergencies.
The workshop focused on creating awareness among students about healthy lifestyle practices and familiarising them with the basic principles and techniques of Basic Life Support and emergency response.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Chanchal Angral, Principal, GDC Doongi, who appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of health consciousness and basic lifesaving skills among young people. She emphasised that such practical and awareness-oriented programmes help students develop a sense of responsibility, confidence and preparedness to respond appropriately during emergency situations.
Dr. Manish Manocha, Group Head, Maximum Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., was the Chief Guest and Resource Person for the programme. He delivered an informative and engaging lecture on lifestyle awareness and Basic Life Support, followed by a live practical demonstration involving the students. The hands-on session enabled the participants to gain a better understanding of basic emergency-response procedures and provided them with an opportunity to learn through direct practical participation.
The programme was further enriched by the presence and active support of Govind Manocha, youngest environmentalist of J&K; Kanchan Manocha, Director, Maximum Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.; Ms. Mehwish, Coordinator, Maximum Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.; Ms. Anu, Senior Coordinator, Maximum Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.; and Ms. Shweta, Coordinator, Maximum Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. Their interaction with the students and contribution to the programme added significant value to the workshop and made the session more informative and engaging.
Following the workshop, a mega registration drive and KYC verification drive for students was conducted on the PM-NAPS (National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme) Portal. The initiative was aimed at facilitating students in completing their registration and KYC verification and familiarising them with apprenticeship and skill-development opportunities available through the portal.
All teaching and non-teaching staff of GDC Doongi remained present and extended their cooperation towards the successful conduct of the programme. Their active participation contributed to the smooth and effective ex*****on of the workshop and the subsequent registration drive.
The proceedings of the programme were anchored by Dr. Mukhtar Hussain, Head, Department of Sociology, GDC Doongi, who coordinated the event and ensured its smooth conduct.
Towards the conclusion of the programme, a facilitation ceremony was organised, during which certificates and mementoes were presented to Dr. Manish Manocha and members of his team as a token of appreciation for their valuable contribution and support.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Mukhtar Hussain, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons, the Maximum Healthcare team, the Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students for their active participation and cooperation.
The workshop and the subsequent PM-NAPS registration and KYC verification drive provided students with a meaningful and enriching experience, combining health awareness, practical lifesaving skills and exposure to apprenticeship opportunities. The programme reflected the college's continued efforts to provide students with practical knowledge and opportunities that contribute to their overall development and future employability.
