Happy 79th Independence Day 🇮🇳
India gained independence from British rule on 15 August 1947, after nearly 200 years of colonial rule. The struggle was long and involved sacrifices from millions of Indians.
Key Stages of the Freedom Movement

• Leaders like Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Bipin Chandra Pal, and Lala Lajpat Rai became prominent.
3. Gandhian Era (1919–1942)
• Mahatma Gandhi led mass movements based on non-violence and truth.
• Key campaigns:
• Non-Cooperation Movement (1920–22)
• Civil Disobedience Movement (1930–34, including the Salt March)
• Quit India Movement (1942)
4. Final Steps to Freedom (1945–1947)
